Europe is experiencing exciting and challenging times, with digital tools and technologies increasingly shaping our daily lives and transforming various sectors. The European DIGITAL SME Alliance represents and supports the main driver of these changes in Europe – small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the ICT sector. With over 45,000 SMEs represented through our national and regional member associations, DIGITAL SME is Europe’s first and largest ICT SME association.
As we continue to grow, we are constantly looking for hands-on, fast learning students wishing to complete a Policy traineeship in a growing and dynamic European association. Please note that we can only accept candidates that are students (preferably working towards achieving a Master’s degree)  enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the traineeship, and in possession of an Erasmus Scholarship. The traineeship must be part of the candidate’s study programme.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the drafting of  reports on European tech policy and SMEs;
  • Supporting the dissemination of surveys and the analysis of results within DIGITAL SME membership;
  • Supporting the drafting and dissemination of policy briefings in the area of digital and industrial policy;
  • Policy monitoring and research;
  • Supporting the organisation and execution of policy related events (workshops, conferences, events in the European Parliament, etc; );
  • Participating in meetings and events; preparing supporting or follow-up materials, such as presentations, minutes and reports;
  • Ad-hoc support.

What do you need to join our team?

  • Proficiency in English;
  • Some previous knowledge of and interest in EU digital policies and/or EU funded projects;
  • Currently enrolled in university, (political science, law or related field);
  • General computer literacy (WordPress), knowledge of CRM software is an asset;
  • Proficiency in another EU language, especially French or German, is an asset;
  • Team player, reliable, highly motivated.

Please note that in order to be eligible, you need to be currently enrolled in university and willing to complete a curricular (unpaid) internship OR be eligible through Erasmus+ funding.
