Mission of SolarPower Europe:

SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system within resilient and diversified solar PV supply chains. We are an award-winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.

Background on Manufacturing Workstream:

SolarPower Europe is working on the mission to create sustainable and resilient solar supply chains in Europe. SolarPower Europe is leading the Manufacturing workstream that aims to foster the right conditions to redevelop solar PV manufacturing in the EU, through a decisive European industrial policy. It monitors and inputs the different critical EU legislative files and its implementation on EU and Member States level that support the solar PV industry. It also supports EU industrial projects in accessing different support mechanisms, from State Aid frameworks to European funds and green public procurement rules.

Job responsibilities:

Reporting to the  Head of Supply Chains at SolarPower Europe, the supply chains intern will support the work of the supply chains team, the work in SolarPower Europe’s Manufacturing Workstream and the representation in the European Solar PV Industry Alliance. The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Supporting the creation of deliverables of European solar PV supply chains, and ensuring full coordination with the SolarPower Europe Supply Chains Team;
  • Supporting the organisation of, and participating in, workstream meetings in the Manufacturing Workstream;
  • Supporting SolarPower Europe’s work and representation in the European Solar PV Industry Alliance;
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from the workstream meetings and from the European Solar PV Industry Alliance;
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials and speaking notes for meetings;
  • Building, maintaining, and expanding a strong network in the field of supply chains and solar manufacturing in Brussels and among SolarPower Europe’s members;
  • Contributing to the content and drafting of SolarPower Europe’s deliverables (presentations, reports);
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required, such as providing organizational and logistical support to events, workshops and business trips, and supporting administrative and business operations functions in the supply chains team;
  • Experience of working with various cultures would be an advantage.

 

Profile:

The ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor-level degree in a relevant discipline: Energy Technology, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Renewable Energy or similar;
  • A passion for the energy transition and solar energy;
  • Some technical knowledge about renewable energy technology, EU policy, and regulation;
  • A diligent, reliable and result-oriented attitude;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Demonstrated project management and coordination skills;
  • Strong English writing skills and attention to detail;
  • An excellent customer-focused approach;
  • Good networking and interpersonal skills;
  • Confidence in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Proficiency in English. Fluency in any other language including French, Spanish, or German is an asset;
  • Experience of supporting event organization is a plus.

 

Our offer:

  • A Belgian 6-month internship contract (Convention Immersion Professionnelle) and the possibility to renew the internship contract for an additional 6 months.
  • A competitive remuneration package, including 5 internship holidays (on top of all Belgian public holidays), public transportation allowance, work-from-home allowance, and lunch vouchers.
