The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) is looking to reinforce its dynamic communications team with an experienced Media Relations Manager.

Job description
  • Shape and deliver our media strategy, ensuring that our priority messages and stories are reflected in media across the EU, from print to broadcast, from top-tier to specialised press.
  • Maintain a network of journalists on the EU and national levels; build long-term relationships with media influencers.
  • Proactive media outreach: pitch stories to media, tailoring the news angle to different interests; identify media opportunities.
  • Develop and draft engaging content for journalists, eg headline-grabbing press releases, op-eds, backgrounders, Q&As, etc.
  • Organise high-level press conferences, media roundtables and interviews.
  • Serve as ACEA’s media liaison, handling media inquiries.
  • Media monitoring and compiling daily summaries for the ACEA team
  • Media analysis and reporting on KPIs.
  • Keep abreast of the media landscape and ensure ACEA’s media database is up-to-date.

Profile

  • A good storyteller
  • Outgoing personality with excellent people skills
  • Good understanding of political/policy communications and the EU decision-making process
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Enthusiastic and positive team player
  • Native-level English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Other languages are a plus.
  • Around five years of relevant work experience (eg journalist, communications agency, trade association)
