ETIS Communication & Community Manager

ETIS, headquartered in Brussels, is a non-profit association fostering collaboration across the European telecommunications sector. It currently unites 30 telecom operators and 15 telecom suppliers, representing the sector across 21 European countries.

Our aim is to empower our Members to achieve their strategic goals and enhance their business outcomes through the exchange of knowledge on industry challenges, best practices, and benchmarks.

ETIS facilitates in-person meetings, webinars, and manages an online community. These initiatives offer a venue for specialists to debate pressing topics and critical concerns, as well as to foster the exchange of information and ongoing professional development.

Main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading working groups related to strategic, business performance, or technical domains in the telecom sector. Previous knowledge of the industry is a plus but not required; only a willingness and aptitude to learn are necessary.

  • External Communication: Enhance ETIS visibility through website content management, social media updates, newsletters, promotional materials, and presentations.
  • Internal Communication: Engage with operators and suppliers.
  • Working Group Management: Coordinate online and in-person events, such as webinars and meetings; develop agendas, deliverables, working papers, surveys, and benchmarks.
  • Representation: Act on behalf of ETIS, reporting on outcomes and action points from meetings and webinars.
  • Leadership: Facilitate and guide webinars; in the absence of the working group chair, lead discussions during in-person meetings.
  • Logistics: Manage meeting arrangements, including collaboration with member hosts and organizing hotel and restaurant bookings.

Desired Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of the following skills and competencies:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Strong communication and community-building skills—capable of engaging in outreach to attract participation and managing relationships with existing members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate the interests and personalities of various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with robust organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Efficient in meeting deadlines and achieving targets.
  • A flexible team player who also excels when working independently.
  • A creative thinker with a keenness to learn.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft programs and a solid understanding of communication tools, as well as software packages for creating visuals and videos.
  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Familiarity with the telecom industry and professional experience in working group and event management is a plus

We offer:

  • A highly competitive salary package in line with job profile and experience;
  • A laptop, mobile phone, internet, and mobile subscription;
  • Meal and eco vouchers;
  • Flexible working conditions: teleworking at least 3 days per week;
  • A teleworking allowance;
  • Opportunities for work-related travel in Europe (2-3 days a month, several times a year).

This position is initially for one year under Belgian law, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract. The desired start date is September or at the earliest convenience.

Please submit your Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter to Wim De Meyer, Managing Director of ETIS, at wdm@etis.org. As applications are reviewed continuously, you are advised to apply promptly.
