The German Broadband Association “BREKO” is the leading association of the telecommunications industry in Germany. With 540 member companies, we actively shape the digital future and advocate nationwide fiber-optic development and fair competition in the telecommunications market. Our 23-person strong team works innovatively and pragmatically – always with the aim of effectively representing our members` interests driving digital transformation.
For our European office in Brussels, we are looking for a
Public Affairs Manager
Your resposibilities:
- Advocate for our members’ interests by engaging directly with EU institutions and policymakers
- Prepare position papers and statements in close coordination with member companies and other associations
- Build, maintain and expand our political network in Brussels
- Represent the association in Brussels vis-à-vis the EU institutions as well as at events, working groups and in umbrella organisations
- Monitor and analyse European telecommunications and policy developments
- Plan, organise and implement events and dialogue formats
- Work closely with colleagues in our offices in Bonn and Berlin
Your profile:
- Successfully completed university degree with a specialisation in European Studies, Politics, Economics, Law or Administrative Sciences or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience in political advocacy or in the political environment
- Excellent Germand and English skills, both written and spoken
- Ideally initial experience in the telecommunications or digitale infrastructure sector
- Independet and structured way of working
- High reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
- Strong communication skills and the ability to express comlex topics clearly
- High social competence and enjoyment of working as part of a team
