We are seeking a Correspondent (f/m/d) for our DW Brussels Studio in Belgium as of 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible on the basis of a full-time local staff employment contract limited for two years.
Role
- reporting on current and in-depth European topics, EU institutions, and Western European countries – from topic selection to implementation – for all of Deutsche Welle’s channels and formats
- producing features and in-depth reports (social media, online, TV) from Brussels and Europe
- live interviews and broadcasts for YouTube and TV (in English)
- organization of studio conversations as well as conducting interviews with relevant figures
Profile
- university degree as well as completed traineeship or comparable journalistic qualification
- long-standing professional journalistic experience, including experience as video journalist and mobile reporter
- prior experience as a correspondent, preferably from Brussels, and experience with breaking news situations
- ability to analyze political and geostrategic contexts and very good knowledge of the EU institutions
- good knowledge of the processes of social media departments, preferably at media organizations similar to DW
- experience with reporting and interview formats for YouTube
- professional language proficiency in English and French (min. level C1), German desirable
- excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to work in interdisciplinary and diverse teams, high level of intercultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
