Project Coordinator at European Livestock Voice (INTERNSHIP)
About
European Livestock Voice is a multi-stakeholder platform of like-minded EU partners in the livestock value chain associations which represent sectors ranging from animal health to feed, to breeding and animal farming, farmers, and output industries. We serve as one central voice to inform policy makers, the media and the public about the societal value of livestock farming and its contribution to global challenges, offering to encourage a balanced debate. We aim to address misinformation on the livestock value chain and offer another perspective in the ongoing debates around a sector that is playing such an essential role in Europe’s rich heritage and future.
Job Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person with a strong interest in the livestock sector and EU affairs who would support our partner associations in conducting the various activities of European Livestock Voice. Apart from the external activities of the platform focusing on communication campaigns including events, social media outreach, video diffusion, etc. the position also includes the organisation of internal meetings between the member associations.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for direct engagement with some of the biggest organisations in the EU agri-food world while also allowing for active engagement with the EU institutions, and particularly the European Parliament. The uniqueness of the role allows you to combine policy, advocacy, communication and organisational aspects in one job, while encouraging creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Running of day-to-day internal activities:
- Organise the internal meetings, both at technical and Directors’ level
- Liaise with members to follow-up on activities
- Promote the platform activities via our website and social channels
- Monitor the platform’s email and respond to enquiries
- Support with video editing, report writing, and drafting social media posts, etc. post-meeting
Conduct the actions/activities agreed by the platform’s Directors’ group:
- Organise events in Brussels and in the EU on topics related to livestock
- Implement communication campaigns designed together with platform members
- Maintain and create contact with other interested stakeholders and scientists both at EU and national level
- Monitor EU policy and activities related to livestock to identify opportunities for action
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has an interest in EU public affairs
- Has experience in organising events or running projects
- Has a genuine interest in the livestock sector
- Has a university degree in political science, communication, law, economics, or agriculture
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 or C2), other languages is a plus
- Is organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Is able to identify opportunities, take initiative and suggest potential actions keeping in mind the various platform members’ interests and sensitivities and the need to have approval on any important decision
Desirable
- Knowledge in topics such as agriculture, agronomy, animal sciences
- Experience with digital and design tools and AI
What We Offer
- A full-time internship based in Brussels, Belgium (from 6 months to one year)
