The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) is seeking a Communications Assistant to help amplify our mission, engage the international neuroscience community, and strengthen our global brand. About IBRO
IBRO is the leading global membership organization dedicated to advancing neuroscience. We bring together more than 100 neuroscience societies and organizations from around the world, supporting scientists through funding, training, research collaborations, and international programs.
With an annual budget of approximately USD 4.5 million, IBRO invests in developing the next generation of neuroscientists and promoting a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive global neuroscience community.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Communications and Community Manager, you’ll play an important role in increasing the visibility and impact of IBRO’s work. Every day will bring something different, from creating compelling digital content to supporting international scientific events and engaging with researchers around the world.
As Communications Assistant, you will:
- Bring IBRO’s social media channels to life through engaging, timely, and creative content.
- Help promote IBRO’s grants, training opportunities, events, and global initiatives.
- Support strategic engagement activities, including IBRO’s presence at international scientific conferences and our webinar series.
- Update and maintain IBRO’s websites, including creating and publishing written and visual content.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of various communication campaigns throughout the year
- Support the organization of meetings, events, and day-to-day communications activities.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organized, and eager to grow their communications career in an international nonprofit environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to write engaging content for different audiences.
- Experience working in communications, ideally within a nonprofit environment, or a genuine enthusiasm for IBRO’s mission.
- Experience managing website content and creating attractive digital communications materials.
- An interest in social media, digital engagement, strategic communications, and campaign planning.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- A proactive mindset, with the confidence to work independently as needed and to collaborate effectively within a close-knit team.
