The Left in the European Parliament is seeking to recruit a campaigner for both on-the ground and online campaigns starting September 2026.

The Left in the European Parliament brings together MEPs from a range of European left and progressive parties – ecological, socialist, feminist, communist and independent. In virtually all policy areas, it argues against the mainstream neoliberal prescriptions for the EU

ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will contribute to the developing and implementing digital campaigns based on the priorities of the Left.
They will be able to transform political positions into action, broadening the sphere of discussion on our priority issues and raising awareness of our positions among civil society, international media, and the public.
They will be able to show imagination in formulating strategy, and an ability to guarantee effective planning and organisation of all facets of campaigns and projects. They will have a strong grasp of EU politics, and the diverse tactics needed to ensure exposure for Left’s MEPs and issues.
They will work with Left MEPs, policy advisers, and the rest of the communications team to influence social media debate and public opinion on EU policy making.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop creative campaign strategies targeted at specific audiences with the social media team
- Plan public actions for use on digital and social media campaigns
- Ensure campaigns merge with group narratives through effective storytelling
- Foster and sustain partnerships with key stakeholders and allies
- Develop mailing lists and data collection
- Build and maintain digital supporter databases, segment audiences, and execute targeted communications.
- Create and plan content for use across various communications channels with the social media team
- Track campaign performance metrics and use analytics tools to interpret data and recommend improvements.
PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS
- Political affinity and passion for left-wing political values
- Preferably 3-5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced communications environment or equivalent
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital advertising, email marketing, and analytics tools
- Proven track record in analysing social media insights to adapt communication strategies and boost engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience crafting persuasive political messaging.
- Data-savvy with experience in audience segmentation, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Experience with producing audio-video material as well as editing
- Ability to bridge the gap between different viewpoints and perspectives.
- Extensive knowledge of EU policy debates from a Left perspective
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and positive collaboration with colleagues
- Creativity, resourcefulness, and professionalism with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English,
- Other underrepresented European languages an asset
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
The selection procedure is open to any candidate provided they fulfil the following conditions: Under article 82, (3) of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS) of the European Communities you must also: be a national of a Member State of the European Union and entitled to your full rights as citizen; have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service; produce the appropriate references/certificates for performance of the duties.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
Position to be filled ideally by beginning of September 2026.
The initial contract will be for a year, renewable until the end of the term (30/06/2029).
You will be based in Brussels with possible regular international travel and work in unusual hours. The successful candidates will be recruited as Function group III etc depending on years of experience. Salary and allowances, under the EU institutions system, depend on
experience, country of origin and family situation. Basic gross salary is 3.475,62 euros (for less than 5 years of experience, allowances not included).
