Event Description

The European Respiratory Society is delighted to invite you to the event "Respiratory health risks in the era of increased climate change and natural disasters - preparing EU citizens for current and future challenges of extreme weather events" to be held at The Hotel in Brussels.

In September 2023, the ERS published a statement highlighting the major threats climate change poses to respiratory health and emphasised the need to prioiritise health in mitigation strategies and air pollution policies. This year, this work is taken a step further with the publication of the Natural Disaster and Respiratory Health series in the European Respiratory Journal and the creation of the ERS led Stakeholder Network on Climate Change and Health on the DG SANTE Health Policy Platform. ERS aims to use these initiatives to develop concrete policy recommendations addressing the growing impact of climate change on respiratory health.
Event details:

The event hosted by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) aims to discuss the respiratory risks of natural disasters, climate change, make policy recommendations and prepare as best as possible for the future.  This event will bring together experts, policymakers, health stakeholders and patient organisations. We will soon follow up with more information and the agenda of the event.
Due to limited capacity, please express your interest by filling out this form.
We look forward welcoming you!
