Do you want to help Europe meet the growing demand for sustainable and affordable food while gaining hands-on experience in content creation and community engagement? Are you excited about the chance to grow your career in a fast-moving sector at the intersection of agrifood systems, public policy, and communications?

At Prospero, we partner with agrifood actors to enable and effect the transition to more resilient and sustainable agrifood systems. We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join us as a Content and Community Management Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media, media relations, and community engagement in the context of EU advocacy.

Prospero is looking for an ambitious and energetic individual to join our team, supporting several of our client accounts by contributing to content development, managing social media platforms, supporting media outreach, and helping to grow and nurture our clients’ online communities. You will be involved in content creation, social media management, media relations, and building relationships with target audiences across multiple channels. Prospero’s primary working language is English.

The trainee will be expected to work full-time in the office to optimise their learning and development. It is essential that the successful candidate is based in Brussels for the duration of the traineeship.

The industry sectors that Prospero provides consultancy to are fast-growing and innovative, moving food and ag production toward greater resilience and sustainability in light of climate change. As a company, Prospero is also in a period of growth and change.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Assist in creating, editing, and publishing engaging content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with Prospero’s consultants to develop visual and written content that support the objectives and activities of Prospero’s client accounts, such as the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC), the European Consortium of the Organic-Based Fertilizer Industry (ECOFI), and the Biocontrol Coalition.
  • Research and suggest fresh content ideas based on current trends and target audience interests.
  • Articulate communication materials from key messages.
  • Update client communication materials, including PDF documents (derived from Word, Powerpoint, and Publisher), websites, intranets, and social media.
  • Act as Prospero’s point of contact for relevant suppliers such as printers.

Media Outreach:

  • Identify and monitor relevant journalists to ensure that Prospero’s media relations list remains complete and current;
  • Draft and issue media releases in consultation with relevant team members;
  • Produce dedicated materials and organise dedicated briefing sessions for journalists on behalf of our various client accounts.

Social Media Management:

  • Manage day-to-day scheduling and posting on social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, etc.).
  • Monitor social media interactions and engage with followers by responding to comments and messages in a timely manner, in consultation with the appropriate Prospero consultant.
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics to optimise client content strategy.

Community Engagement:

  • Support in building engaged online communities by creating opportunities for interaction and dialogue among members.
  • Assist in organising and promoting virtual or in-person client events (webinars, EBIC Summit, Plant Nutrition events, etc.).
  • Assist in the development and execution of client-specific communications strategies and relevant aspects of workplans or mid-term strategies.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Assist in analysing content performance metrics, community engagement trends, and social media data to help shape future strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports summarising insights and recommendations for improvement, including reporting directly to the lead consultants on various client accounts.
  • Support consultants’ reporting on progress and indicators to client accounts.

Events:

  • Support clients’ advocacy events as necessary with social media and other communications (Pre-, post-, and during events).
  • Attend events related to delivering effective communications and social media engagement in the EU context and incorporate learnings into relevant recommendations, strategies and operations.

The Ideal Candidate:

We're looking for someone who understands the dynamics of online communities and content creation, is enthusiastic about engaging with audiences across analogue and digital platforms in support of public affairs and advocacy objectives, and is highly motivated, as well as eager to learn and grow. The candidate should be a team player who can work independently while taking input from and providing updates to key colleagues, leadership, and community members. Some prior knowledge or experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation is a plus. Excellent English writing skills are required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including understanding how to segment audiences and adjust messages to resonate with various audiences.
  • Understanding of how to use platforms like LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Facebook and TikTok in a professional context.
  • Basic experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Publisher, MS Powerpoint).
  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.
  • Passion for supporting the EU, food and agriculture, and/or sustainable tech.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to deliver on both shared and individual responsibilities.

Why Join Us?
