Events & Policy Officer
RE-Source is looking for a highly organised person who is keen to advance their career in the renewable energy sector.
Duration: 12 month contract with possibility of extension.
Role: The Events & Policy Officer reports to the RE-Source Director, and supports strategic engagement with corporate energy buyers, suppliers, and policymakers. This work contributes to building the RE-Source network and bringing our messages to people with the power to enact change and drive forward corporate renewable energy sourcing – critical for our mission to grow the pool of corporate renewable energy buyers in Europe.
Who we are looking for
A highly organised person who is looking to grow their career in the renewable energy industry. Maximum 3 years’ experience. Qualities and skills:
- Organised and gives attention to detail (essential)
- High level of written and spoken English (essential)
- Up for the challenge of working in a small team at the centre of a large network of partners (essential)
- Sociable, enthusiastic, takes initiative (essential)
- Confident with using Microsoft 365 (desirable)
- Experience with Zoom, Mailchimp, WordPress (desirable)
- Basic knowledge of EU institutions and policymaking processes (desirable)
Engagement with RE-Source partners and growing the network
- Supporting organisation of meetings and workshops for RE-Source’s partners and preparing content, e.g., supporting guest presenters and making PowerPoint presentations
- RE-Source Energy Buyers Hub (https://resource-platform.eu/energy-buyers-hub/): organisation of online meetings including drafting agendas, helping secure speakers and preparing content, drafting and sending invitations, managing database of contacts, drafting promotional materials
Shaping the regulatory framework around corporate energy sourcing
- Supporting organisation of events and webinars, e.g., roundtables with policymakers. This involves booking rooms and catering, setting up online platforms, drafting invitations and managing guestlists
- Leading on logistics of policymaker outreach, including securing meetings with policymakers, and supporting content development for political engagement.
RE-Source annual event and communications activities
- Helping prepare workshops, conference sessions, and activities for energy buyers
- Helping manage RE-Source’s association partners engagement
- Supporting the Director’s speaking engagements, e.g., putting together presentations, helping draft speaking points
- Ad hoc social media and web content, e.g., drafting posts and articles and adding content to the website (WordPress)
