About Us

Ammonia Europe is the business association representing the interests and supporting the growth of the ammonia industry in Europe. We are a newly established association comprising eleven founding members. Ammonia Europe aims to lead the policy and technical debate around ammonia’s role as a decarbonisation vector and fuel for the food, industrial, energy and transportation sectors in Europe’s net-zero and resilient economy. For more information: https://www.ammoniaeurope.com. We are seeking an experienced and passionate policy and advocacy director to drive the association’s policy and regulatory activities.

Position Summary

The Director will be an essential part of our small but dynamic team, by raising ammonia awareness and driving the association’s policy and advocacy activities. Based in Brussels, you will shape the associations positions and convey impactful messages to EU stakeholders. You will be the voice of a newly established business association with endless opportunities for organizational and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to shaping Ammonia Europe’s strategy related to EU climate, energy, maritime and competitiveness policies
  • Execute Ammonia Europe’s policy and advocacy plan by developing impactful positions and messages targeting a wide variety of audiences in EU institutions and beyond
  • Represent Ammonia Europe externally in events, conferences and workshops
  • Develop partnerships with other like-minded stakeholders in industry, research and academia
  • Manage Ammonia Europe policy and advocacy committee as well as oversee the certification working group
  • Contribute to the growth of the association by generating leads
  • Prepare briefings and documents for a variety of purposes/audiences

Requirements

  • Qualification: Advanced university degree in Political Sciences, European law, economics or business
  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in EU public affairs acquired in business associations, in-house, consultancy or EU institutions
  • EU policies: deep understanding and hands-on experience of main EU climate, energy and maritime policies (ETS/CBAM, REDIII, Gas and hydrogen decarbonisation package FuelEUMaritime, AFIF, hydrogen bank, upcoming clean competitiveness deal)
  • Network: proven contacts with relevant stakeholders in brussels and beyond
  • Languages: Fluency in English and another European language
  • IT: Proficiency in MS Office suite
