Lysios is a public affairs consultancy based in Paris and Brussels, with around 30 experts and consultants. The firm supports companies in their engagement strategy with European and French institutions, covering a wide range of sectors such as space, healthcare, digital, transport, etc.

The mission

The consultant will manage a portfolio of clients, notably in the sectors of healthcare (medical devices), digital technologies and finance (investment funds), developing a strategy of engagement with EU players. The consultant will carry out lobbying missions, requiring a good knowledge of the EU institutional environment and the inter-institutional functioning of the EU. The consultant will be supervised by the Brussels’ Office Director, and join the existing team of consultants. He/She will interact with the trainee on a daily basis. Assignments will include:

  • Management of client missions (consulting activities; organizing weekly meetings; monitoring and analyzing the client's sectoral ecosystem; developing an argumentation and influence strategy vis-àvis the EU institutions).
  • Drafting of legislative monitoring reports (weekly and/or monthly) and mapping of institutional stakeholders of interest to the client. 
  • Implementation and follow-up of lobbying actions (organizing, preparing, and assisting clients with institutional meetings—European Parliament, European Commission, Permanent Representations of Member States, trade associations; drafting presentations, position papers, and written contributions to the Commission consultations).
  • Collaboration with Lysios' Paris office for shared clients.
  • Participation in the development of the firm's activities(commercial prospection; contributing to the firm’s publications through analytical notes)

Profile required

  • 2-3 years' experience in EU public affairs consulting.
  • Master's degree in European affairs (law, politics, economics, College of Europe, etc.).  Excellent command of English and French (written/oral). Fluency in another language is considered an asset.
  • Real interest in European policies and the Brussels’ ecosystem.
  • Excellent writing, analytical and adaptability skills. Ability to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of one or more EU policies will be considered an asset.
