About the Organisation:

The Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe (AMICE) is the voice of the mutual and cooperative insurance sector in Europe. The sector represents approximately one-third of all insurance business in Europe.

 

AMICE’s primary remit is to advocate for appropriate and fair treatment of all mutual and cooperative insurerΩs in Europe. It has 78 full members across 21 countries and speaks for an additional 700 insurers through its national associations members. In addition, AMICE has two associate members and two supporting members.

 

AMICE provides a platform for mutual and cooperative insurers of all sizes to combine resources and expertise, exchange experiences across national borders and discuss key issues and concerns relating to EU legislative and regulatory changes. It encourages its members to collaborate and share views on topics and developments which may impact them.

 

About the Role:

The Communications and Events Officer will directly report to the Secretary General and be responsible for all of AMICE’s internal and external communications, including publications, website, social media. etc. They will be responsible for developing and implementing AMICE’s events programme, including webinars, member meetings, symposiums, General Meetings and the biennial Congress.

 

The successful candidate will ensure that members are engaged and that their needs and expectations from AMICE are reflected in a variety of activities and an associated communications programme. The role will offer interesting opportunities to individuals who have true team spirit and feel comfortable with daily changing challenges and a high degree of personal responsibility.

 

About the Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy in conjunction with AMICE’s overall strategy
  • Organise membership communications activities through working groups / forums / taskforces / webinars: programme, agenda, meeting notes, minutes, follow-up actions
  • Be in charge of AMICE’s membership publications as well as AMICE’s online presence (website/social media)
  • Lead on all sorts of press relations (database, targeted relationships and distribution )
  • Be in charge of relations with AMICE’s communications agency as well as with interpreters/translators
  • Develop and executive events, such as AMICE’s Annual General Meeting or the association’s biennial Congress

 

About the Expectations:

  • Proven, initial work experience of at least 2-3 years of working on communications activities in an EU environment (consultancy, trade association, institutions, corporates, NGOs)
  • A relevant university degree in either communications, journalism or e.g. political science with other degrees to be considered as well
  • A digital native with strong political savvy
  • Familiarity with and interest in the EU policy environment
  • A good understanding of the evolving social media landscape, and a proven track record in delivering excellent results on social media
  • An excellent knowledge of English on a native or near native level, with fluency in other languages (in particular French) to be considered a strong asset
  • Creative and organised initiative-taker; team-player
