EARTO is the Association of Research and Technology Organisations, representing 350 RTOs throughout Europe and beyond. EARTO’s mission is to promote and defend the interests of RTOs in Europe by reinforcing their profile and position towards policy-makers and by seeking to ensure that European RD&I programmes are best attuned to their specificities and role in the innovation ecosystem.
EARTO is currently looking for a highly motivated candidate seeking a paid internship or, depending on their profile and relevant work experience, a junior policy officer position for a start on 26 August 2024. You will be part of the Policy team which conducts research and analysis on EARTO policy topics of interest, monitor institutional, corporate and press websites, brief notes on selected issues for internal and external use and attend meetings and conferences in Brussels. You will also take part in the organisation of EARTO Working Groups meetings and EARTO events.
Main Mission:
- Monitoring EU news and key EARTO dossiers especially focused on Research & Innovation (Horizon Europe, European Research Area, etc.) and drafting informative emails
- Being involved in the organisation of EARTO Working Groups and Task Forces:
- Incl. drafting PowerPoints’ presentations and minutes of the meetings
- Coordination with members, etc.
- Meetings’ organisation
- Drafting policy notes, website news, etc. for internal and external use
- Updating the EARTO website (WordPress) and the EARTO social media
- Updating the EARTO databases on a regular basis
- Being involved in the preparation of EARTO annual events such as the EARTO October Events and Annual Conference
Your profile:
- University degree (preferably Master Level) – or in the process of completion
- Interest in EU public affairs and policy-making, especially in the field of Research and Innovation (previous experience in this field would be an advantage)
- Highly motivated, with a team spirit, proactive attitude, willingness to learn and attention to details
- Knowledge of EU Institutions and policy-making process is an asset
- Good analytical skills and experience with writing content for reports, briefing notes, website is an asset
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), knowledge of WordPress and MailChimp is an asset
- Fluent in English. French or other language(s) are an asset
- Legally entitled to work in the EU
