We are looking for a highly motivated (experienced) consultant to join our Transport & Energy team, covering climate, energy, and transport policies, and contributing to the growth of the practice.

In this role, you will work with various clients, covering corporates, SMEs, and public authorities, and develop and implement impactful Public Affairs strategies and campaigns. You will work in small project teams and act as a day-to-day point of contact for our clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on climate, energy and transport policies in the new EU policy mandate and gain first-hand experience in business development. The candidate will report to the Director of the Transport & Energy practice and work closely together with colleagues from the Sustainability and Digital & Tech teams.

As a Public Affairs Consultant, Transport & Energy you are responsible for:

  • Analysing EU policy developments that impact our clients’ activities. Topics that you could work on include: hydrogen, CC(U)S, urban mobility, road transport, aviation, maritime transport, renewable energy, charging infrastructure and competitiveness;
  • Providing strategic advice to a wide range of clients, including corporates, SMEs, public authorities, in the field of transport and energy;
  • Developing and executing Public Affairs and Communication strategies and campaigns to achieve our clients’ objectives;
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders across the EU institutions;
  • Taking a proactive role in identifying business opportunities and contributing to business proposals;
  • Increasing Publyon’s external visibility in the field of transport and energy;
  • Managing and coaching junior colleagues and support them in providing top-quality services.

Who are you?

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in EU Affairs, for example within consultancy, industry, trade association or an EU institution;
  • University level education (Master’s degree), preferably in an area related to European studies, political sciences, economics or law;
  • Knowledge of EU energy and transport policies;
  • Ability to work with a diverse client portfolio, cope with multiple priorities and coordinate the activities with your colleagues;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Business acumen;
  • Proficiency in English, knowledge of the Dutch language is a strong asset;
