Tasks

The intern’s activities will be devoted to strengthening online and offline communication activities of the trade association in the run up to EU institutional changes (elections to the EP, new European Commission, etc.). In particular, he or she will be expected to:

  1. Propose and develop communication tools in support of the association’s public affairs mission such as infographics, short video clips, recordings, etc.
    • Work closely with public affairs colleagues to identify communication needs and with companies’ experts to communicate on the industry and its products’ added value.
    • Propose communication tools and visuals, assemble them and assist in their dissemination towards industry stakeholders and EU institutions.
    • Maintain the website (Wordpress CMS), feed the news page and newsletter.
    • Ensure a regular social media presence for the association.
  2. Support the trade association’s outreach towards newly elected Members of the European Parliament with adequate communication materials.
  3. Contribute to ad-hoc tasks of the daily association work; e.g. drafting of press releases, contacts with company experts, etc.

Glass for Europe designs this internship as a progressive dive in the world of an EU trade association. The intern is integrated in a staff of five professionals who will accompany his / her development and empower him / her with increased responsibilities over time.

Qualifications:

  • Have a university diploma in communication, public relations, or social science.
  • Possess basic skills in design and video editing (CANVA, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere or equivalent software).
  • Be creative, pro-active, flexible, and willing to learn with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Eager to deliver fine-tuned work aesthetically and have an eye for details.
  • Possess excellent drafting and communication skills in English.

Offer & conditions:

  • Internship starts in early autumn 2024 for a period of 6 months.
  • This is a paid internship under a Belgian contract ‘Convention d’immersion professionelle’.
