Context

The European University on Responsible Consumption and Production, in short EURECA-PRO, unites nine universities from eight different countries around Europe. EURECA-PRO derives its name from Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible consumption and production) of the United Nations, the systematic implementation of which, in education, research, innovation and society, is at the core of EURECA-PRO's goals, strategies, and activities. EURECA-PRO long-term vision is to be leader in education, research and innovation in responsible consumption and production of goods and resources; and to be a European role model for inter-university cooperation across borders and the open integration of society.

Job description

The recruited person will provide operational support to the Université de Lorraine (UL)'s education officers in order to develop the EURECA-PRO alliance's education offer, prioritising the field of SDG12. The Project developer will be part of the “project” team that organises the UL's contribution to the EURECA-PRO alliance. He/she will work in close collaboration with the members of the UL team, in particular the education officers, the education departments (Faculties, Schools, Training Institutes) and the partners. He/she will report to the local European University Project Manager.

Missions
All the missions will require to report on results, to set up and monitor activity indicators, and to master project management tools.

Mission 1: Internationalise UL current training offer on SDG12-related topic

  • map the UL's training courses linked to SDG12, coordinating with faculties and other internal departments and projects (Education community on Corporate Social Responsibility, Education & Territoires, Lorraine Université d’Excellence).
  • link, make connection and synergize the UL courses identified with the courses offered by the partners
  • fill in EURECA-PRO templates with the UL course offer information This preliminary work will contribute to the internationalization of the UL's courses.

Mission 2: Coordinate pedagogical engineering
identify and taylor appropriate teaching methods (e.g. Problem-Based Learning activities) or teaching format (Summer Schools, Lectures Series, MOOCs) within UL that can be shared with alliance partners (type of activity, timing, accessibility, etc.)

  • analyse the need to design or adapt teaching content
  • arrange cooperative work between faculties and assist with project content development:mobilising human and logistical resources, supporting implementation, coordinating the stakeholders (UL departments), mobilising the partners’ departments,
  • organize the alignment with the partners of the alliance to jointly design teaching grains, from modules to comprehensive work programmes
  • develop an approach to promote courses and to reinforce attractiveness
  • develop communication contents to attract talented students in conjunction with the UL Communication Department and the Communication and Dissemination Centre of the EURECA-PRO alliance
  • contribute to develop a joint quality assurance approach of educational activities, in compliance with European standards

Mission 3: Support the emergence of the EURECA-PRO Life-Long Learning Academy (ELLA)

  • contributing to draw up specifications
  • coordinate the implementation of the ELLA activities

The tasks may evolve according to the needs of the alliance. This position will require travelling in Europe.

Profile required
Minimum required diploma: MSc. or equivalent
Graduate (Bac+5) ideally in the field of European projects, and/or training engineering, and/or international relations, and/or public administration..

  • You can demonstrate a successful experience in European projects and/or higher education and a motivation for project management and communication with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • You have proven experience in managing and/or coordinating educational engineering and communication.
  • You are recognized for your interpersonal skills, both written and oral, your ability to transmit information, as well as in managing, leading and coordinating meetings/workgroups (physical and remote).
  • You are at ease for building alliances, establishing a climate of trust, getting people on board and unite people around a new project!
  • Your agility enables you to adapt to different interlocutors and contexts (particularly international), communicate effectively, analyze and define priorities in changing contexts.
  • You are pro-active, service-minded, a team player and have the initiative to suggest innovative ideas.
  • You must be fluent in written and spoken French and English. Fluency in another language (German, Spanish, Greek, Romanian, Dutch, Polish) is a plus.

The UL IRO (International Relations Office, or in French DRIE - Direction des Relations Internationales et Européennes) is the operational office of Université de Lorraine in charge of international and European affairs (i.e. Erasmus + projects, student and staff mobility, international student and staff welcome, hosting of international delegations, operational support to UL international strategy, etc). The office is made up of three divisions: institutional cooperation, international mobility, and international welcome.
Université de Lorraine is one of the largest University in France; regrouping over 60.000 students and 7.000 employees throughout a network of 43 Faculties, Technological Institutes, and Schools mostly based in NANCY and METZ. The university comprises 60 research laboratories (hosting approx. 4.000 faculties); many of which are joint laboratories with national research institutes such as INRAE, INRIA, or CNRS.

The city of NANCY is located in the northeastern French region Grand-Est, in a European transborder area near Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium, and only 1h30 from Paris by train. NANCY is a historical city of approx. 100.000 inhabitants, at the center of a larger urban area of approx. 500.000 inhabitants.
This medium-sized city combines affordability, proximity to country-side, and, with a fifth of the population being a university student, a dynamic and culturally-active livelihood environment.
