Who we are:
 
EAS Strategies has been advising businesses and associations on food regulation and policies in Europe and across the world for over 30 years. We are currently looking for a dynamic person to take on a public affairs/advocacy role for Food Supplements Europe (foodsupplementseurope.org) that we manage from our offices in Brussels. The position is based out of our Brussels office, working closely with an experienced team of experts in regulation, science and food policy.
 
Who we are looking for:
 
This position would be right for someone who has spent at least a year in a role in the European Parliament or other EU institution or has experience in a trade association. They will need to have:
  • Good EU decision-making knowledge.
  • Clear analytical and strategic mind and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Desire to work in the area of food and health issues within a specialist team.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly in English.
  • Knowledge of EU food law is an advantage.
 
What you will do:
  • Coordinate day to day internal and external communications for the association.
  • Monitor the activities of the EU institutions (European Commission, European Parliament and Council) for issues that may impact food supplement interests and assume responsibility for interfacing with these bodies and related stakeholders as part of the overall FSE strategy.
  • Develop relationships with EU decision-makers, enhancing industry reputation through direct  contact and representation of FSE positions.
  • Provide assessments of the commercial, scientific, regulatory, legal implications of proposed EU regulation and legislation specifically in relation to relevant food law policies. Identify and capitalise upon opportunities to influence legislative policy development.
  • Manage the relevant committee(s) within Food Supplements Europe and coordinate action that comes from these groups.
  • Foster good industry relationships to align industry positions with those of FSE. Build industry alliances to further promote the sector.
  • Help in organisation of FSE events.
