Senior Communications Director – call for applications

Do you want to lead communications for Europe’s preeminent geopolitical advisory firm?

Rasmussen Global is looking for a new Senior Communications Director to join our team in Brussels, working closely with colleagues in Berlin, Copenhagen, Kyiv, and Madrid.

The successful candidate will lead communications for Rasmussen Global founder Anders Fogh Rasmussen, as well as driving our client communication work. We are looking for someone with a background in political communications, exceptional English writing skills, and proven experience advising political and corporate leaders.

About Rasmussen Global

Founded in 2014 by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Rasmussen Global advises democratic governments and multinational companies working on some of the biggest challenges facing our societies. Our team has decades of experience at the top of governments, international institutions, and companies across Europe and North America—and we deliver results.

About the position 

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with 10+ years’ experience to:

  • Design and implement policy and political communications campaigns for clients. These include major strategic communications campaigns for democratic governments as well as leading companies with a sharp focus on delivering policy change.
  • Lead on communications for our founder Anders Fogh Rasmussen and other Rasmussen Global senior leadership. Identify opportunities that align with Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s priorities of democracy promotion, transatlantic unity, and open societies.
  • Draft sharp opinion editorials, speeches, and social media content

Qualifications 

We are looking for a candidate with a proactive mindset and a passion for international affairs. The candidate we seek will have:

  • 10+ years’ experience running political or policy communication campaigns, including demonstrable ability to use communications to shift the dial on public policy issues.
  • Experience working in national government, international politics and/or institutions with particular focus on the European Union and NATO.  
  • Excellent knowledge of the media landscape on both sides of the Atlantic and good contacts with the media.
  • Solid judgement, with experience of advising senior politicians/diplomats and C-Suite executives
  • A good understanding of geopolitics, including transatlantic relations and security policy.
  • Aligned with the core values of our founder on promoting freedom and democracy.

The following skills and experiences would be considered an asset:

  • Native English speaker and knowledge of other European language(s)
  • Experience of working in EU policy on space, renewables or in the foreign/security policy sphere
  • A strong understanding of social media and how to build and execute campaigns.
  • Experience working within both the political/government and corporate spheres.
  • Experience of business development/pitching in a consultancy environment

 

Working at Rasmussen Global 

The position is a full-time position. It will ideally be based in Brussels, though for an exceptional candidate we would consider Copenhagen or another major European city. Some job-related travel should be expected.
