SEE is recruiting a Project Officer
Full-time – Indefinite/Open-ended contract
Social Economy Europe (SEE), the voice of more than 4 million social economy enterprises and organisations in the European Union, is recruiting a motivated Project Officer.
SEE is federating 28 national and European social economy networks, SEE is the only EU organisation representing collective interests of all social economy enterprises and organisations as cooperatives, mutuals, associations, charities foundations, social enterprises, and other legal forms. SEE is a democratic organisation run by its members, represented in the General Assembly and in the Executive Board. The Operational team of SEE is currently composed of three members: the Director, a Project lead & Policy Officer as well as an intern working on membership and policy.
SEE takes care of the secretariat of the European Parliament’s Social Economy & Services of General Interest Intergroup , is a member of the European Commission Expert Group on Social Economy and Social Enterprises (GECES), and of the EESC Civil Society Liaison Group, as well as an observer of the European Industrial Forum, and of the United Nations Taskforce on Social and Solidarity Economy.
Your mission
Under the guidance and in cooperation with the Director and the Project lead & Policy Officer, you will:
-Implement European projects in the field of social economy, which implies:
- Managing the day-to-day activities, ensuring that all the deliverables are ready on time and with the expected quality.
- Ensuring the financial management of the EU projects and their sound budgets.
- Animating and managing relations with members and partners.
- Preparing communication content and designing a dissemination strategy in the framework of the EU projects.
- Drafting policy notes and strategies related to the projects for policy makers and other stakeholders.
-Support the drafting of projects and EU funding for SEEtogether with the rest of the team and members. This requires:
- Identifying EU, national and private funding programmes and opportunities with the SEE’s strategy.
- Answering relevant calls for proposals and tenders.
- Bridging funding opportunities with members’ and the network’s strategy
-Support the Director and team in other activities: as a small team, we are all hands-on. other tasks may imply (not exhaistive list):
- Follow-up on policy areas connected to projects you will be in charge of
- Some overall communication actions
- Tasks related to the functioning of the network (working groups, organisation of meetings of the General Assembly…).
Your profile
- You are a motivated, proactive person, enthusiastic about working in a small team, in a multicultural and an international environment. You have excellent organisational and project implementation skills. You can handle multiple activities and projects simultaneously. You work accurately, efficiently and autonomously, also in tight time constraints. You are able to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences, including senior public officials.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of working experience on projects and have proven track record of successfully managing several complex European projects (grants, services contracts…).
- You have a Master’s degree in relevant field (social sciences, political science, social economy… Experience as a researcher is a plus.
- You are fluent in English and another EU official language.
- A good knowledge and passion about the social economy and the European Union would be tremendous assets.
- You have a work permit to work in Belgium.
Job description
- Contract: full-time – open-ended contract.
- Starting date: As soon as possible, ideally March
- Workplace: Brussels, some homeworking expected. You might be required to travel across Europe occasionally.
- Approximate monthly gross salary: 2300€
- Extra-legal advantages: Meal vouchers, teleworking compensation and a 13th month
