CCIA is a leading international technology trade association that represents technology and communications companies, and seeks a Policy Campaigns Manager to support the Association’s work, coordinating external engagement around a series of digital and technology policy files. The Manager is a new position and will report to the Senior Vice President for Europe, with responsibilities including the support and development of policy driven campaigns, organisation of stakeholder events, external engagement, analysis and strategy, as well as representing the association to European stakeholders. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with CCIA’s policy teams to achieve policy goals on behalf of member companies. 
  • Manage and coordinate external advocacy and campaign efforts, including coalition building, event management, research initiatives, and other projects in accordance with CCIA policy objectives.
  • Work across the European and global teams to build high-impact campaigns based on policy priorities and EU legislative agendas. 
  • Project manage dedicated campaigns and policy driven projects, including events. 
  • Work with the Heads of Comms and Policy on all external materials and engagement. 
  • Help draft compelling written materials for internal and external use to educate and inform; doing this in support of CCIA’s policy advocacy and media outreach.
  • Anticipate and address challenges that technology companies might face including in areas such as content moderation, AI, competition, telecoms and cloud. 
  • Lead and participate in meetings with institutions and policy makers representing the Association’s position on a given policy file, supporting team members on their goals.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum four to five years professional experience in campaigning, analysis or strategy, advocacy, public policy, or EU politics. 
  • Strong written and spoken English, as well as other European languages. 
  • Strong knowledge of EU processes, institutions, business strategy, and tech policy.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Experience developing and rolling out advocacy campaigns in-house and with third parties towards EU institutions, in particular around digital, single market and competitiveness topics.
  • Keen understanding and experience of EU regulatory policy processes.
  • Familiarity with internet technologies and competitive regulatory environment, with a demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical, legal, and regulatory issues. 
  • Strong political instinct, outgoing. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organisational and public speaking skills.
  • Experience working on tech or competition policy files appreciated.
  • Experience working with or within trade associations or think tanks appreciated.
  • Ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams and to exercise sound and strategic judgment in a rapidly changing policy environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into simple explanations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong EU political network. 

Salary: 

Commensurate with experience.
