Description of the project:

The Joint Action ‘Capacity for Development (C4N)’ is an action area of the ‘Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N)’ programme. K4N aims to support the European Commission (EC), its partners, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) with competence and knowledge to inform nutrition-related programs and policies with evidence-based approaches and strategies. C4N is financed jointly by the EC and Germany (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.

C4N aims to strengthen capacities to enhance the knowledge base of the EC, European Union (EU) Delegations, EU Member States, and partner countries to advance the fight against all forms of malnutrition. C4N is a key element of the EC’s ‘Nutrition for Development Programme (N4D)’, which underpins the implementation of the EU’s ‘Action Plan for Nutrition’ (APN). Furthermore, the two action areas, C4N-Advisory and C4N-NIPN (National Information Platforms for Nutrition), support the EU to advance the implementation of the EU ‘Action Plan for Nutrition (APN)’ and the nutrition perspective of the new EU “Farm to Fork” strategy.

Within this context, C4N-Advisory supports the EC to track its financial investment in nutrition, and assess the progress made toward reaching its financial pledge. The purpose of this post is twofold: 1) contribute to resource tracking of EC financial investments in nutrition and 2) support the C4N coordinator in relation to C4N internal management processes.
