About Us

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels (“Brussels ETO”) is the official representation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) Government to the European Union and 15 countries in Europe.  We seek to promote the overall image of Hong Kong, and in particular, to promote Hong Kong’s economic and trade interests by enhancing understanding of the HKSAR among the European community.

Responsibilities

Head, Public Relations plays an important role in promoting the image of Hong Kong and managing public relations activities in Europe.  Duties include -

  1. Strategic Public Relations Planning: formulate and execute public relations plans through various physical and/or online activities and channels
  1. Media Management: establish and maintain media contacts, organise media and publicity events and manage press relations
  1. Media Monitoring: monitor media reports on Hong Kong and issues of interest; handle media and public inquiries
  1. Content Development: develop publicity and promotional contents
  1. Cultural Exchange: assist in planning and organisation of events and activities aiming at fostering cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Europe.

Qualifications

The candidate should have –

  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent;
  1. 10 years of relevant experience in journalism/publicity/public relations/event management/marketing and promotion or related fields, including 6 years of proven managerial experience, are preferred;
  1. Language Proficiency
  1. Excellent command of English;
  2. Working knowledge in either French or Dutch;
  3. Knowledge of additional languages (in particular Chinese) is considered an advantage;
  1. good interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
  1. social media savvy;
  1. proven record in planning and organising large-scale events.

Working Conditions

This position is based in Brussels and may require occasional travel.  

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
