Team mission
GetYourGuide is seeking a Head of Policy Communications to shape our perception with public-sector audiences and manage external issues with high relevance to our business. This is a full-time role based at our Berlin office, reporting to the Head of Global Communications.
As the first-ever internal owner of our messaging, relationships, and campaign efforts on external affairs, the Head of Policy Communications will take on a unique, hybrid role, working closely with the Policy and Supply teams to craft narratives and deploy campaigns that reflect and advance our interests, organize industry partners and tech allies to amplify our advocacy, and establish our company as a strategic partner to elected officials in key destinations around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Narrative Development: Craft media-ready messaging that cuts through the public discourse on issues that matter to us, neutralizes opposing arguments, and garners support from industry and political allies.
- Campaign Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of communication campaigns that deliver positive pressure and momentum on external policy topics, ensuring alignment with our corporate strategy and brand values.
- Stakeholder Management: Map, meet, and build relationships with elected officials, institutional leaders, community representatives, and other key stakeholders to facilitate advantageous regulatory conditions for our company, partners, and category.
- Coalition-Building: Develop and activate relationships with allies, coalitions, associations, and other relevant stakeholders to advance our objectives effectively.
- Issues Management: Identify, assess, and prioritize external issues that represent threats or opportunities for our company, and develop strategies to address them proactively.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, political advocacy or related fields, preferably within the technology, travel, or e-commerce sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing communication strategies in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Master strategist at cultivating support among allies and deploying them to amplify our narratives.
- Strong understanding of industry, regulatory, and political landscapes, with the ability to navigate and influence effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Passionate about GetYourGuide's mission and values, with a commitment to driving positive change through strategic communications.
How we set you up for success:
- Invest in your development with an annual personal growth budget
- Enjoy flexibility with a hybrid work-from-home and telecommuting policy
- Save on transportation costs with discounted public transportation tickets
- Support your loved ones with generous maternity and paternity leave policies
