Ecommerce Europe is the united voice of the European Digital Commerce sector, representing the interests of companies selling goods and services online to consumers in Europe. Our mission is to act at EU level by engaging with policymakers to create a better regulatory framework for all e-merchants. Ecommerce Europe is a platform where our members can stay informed, exchange best practices, and define common positions on EU legislation impacting the sector.
 
We are a young and enthusiastic team looking for a highly motivated person, eager to learn and contribute to defending the interests of a very dynamic and growing sector. The selected candidate will support the policy team of Ecommerce Europe through (at least) the following tasks:
  • Undertake detailed monitoring activities of issues relevant for the digital commerce sector;
  • Prepare background notes, briefings, reports, take minutes, and write articles for the website on relevant policy issues;
  • Assist colleagues in their advocacy work, in conducting research and analysis for Ecommerce Europe and its members;
  • Assist colleagues with stakeholder engagement on behalf of Ecommerce Europe;
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the public affairs strategy of the association;
  • Contribute to the organisation of meetings (including webinars) and events;
  • Support the communications efforts of the association in cooperation with the Marketing and Communication Manager.
 
Background and qualifications
  • Graduated (or about to graduate) from a master’s degree in a relevant field such as European studies, Political Science, Law, or other relevant education;
  • Previous internship experience on digital policy files and within the European Institutions and/or Public Affairs is a strong asset (but not mandatory);
  • Language skills: excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages would be an asset;
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.). Previous experience in working with Mailchimp, WordPress and various social media channels would be an asset;
  • Proactive and dynamic person with excellent communication and personal skills;
  • Sound interest in digital and circular economy policies at European level.
 
Terms and conditions
  • The expected starting date is in the first half of September 2024 (exact timing TBD);
  • The duration of the traineeship is 6 months;
  • The position is full-time (40 hours per week, which entitles the trainee to 1 recuperation day per month worked);
  • Our office is located at WeWork, Rue du Commerce 31, Brussels (Belgium);
  • The traineeship is remunerated at € 1.070,00 per month and is subject to the conditions of the ‘Convention d’immersion professionnelle / Beroepsinlevingsstage’;
  • Additional benefits provided: working from home allowance (extra net amount per month paid with the remuneration); reimbursement of public transportation costs and mobile phone contribution.
