About Fourtold

Fourtold is an independent consultancy with an integrated approach to public affairs and communications.  Our purpose is to help build trust in the science and technology that can create a more sustainable world, tackling many of the global issues of our time. To demonstrate our commitment to this purpose, and sustainability more generally, we became BCorp™ Certified in 2024.

We bring together deep policy expertise, political understanding and creativity into tailored strategies and campaigns that make the difference for our clients and shape the issues that matter in the EU agenda.

Our team is made up by 20+ experts with background and expertise in EU institutions, multinationals, trade associations, and NGOs. We are specialized in and passionate about three policy areas: technology, sustainability and healthcare.

In addition to Brussels, we support clients from our London office and with a network of partners across Europe and beyond.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a policy wonk to join our expanding EU health team. We don’t expect you to be a health policy expert already – although any relevant experience would certainly be a plus.

We want to hire a natural problem-solver who is eager to learn quickly; an ambitious colleague who isn’t afraid to voice their opinions; and someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck-in with complex and fast-paced projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional to work with clients who are developing game-changing medical innovations, on policy topics that will define the health policy landscape for years to come, all under the guidance of our expert team members.

Tasks that you can expect to work on include:

·      Understanding more about our clients’ portfolios and pipelines, and providing strategic thinking on how various aspects of the EU policy agenda could affect their interests.

·      Conducting in-depth research that helps clients solve problems – both simple and complex.

·      Summarising information concisely, clearly and in a way that puts client needs first.

·      Drafting materials (e.g. position papers, infographics) that help clients to be heard

·      Organising policy events that bring together senior and expert voices to drive the policy conversation forwards.

·      Reaching out to policy makers to support client engagement programmes.

·      Building your own EU network to help gather policy insights.

In the role, you will need to demonstrate:

·      That you are a self-starter with a can-do-attitude, as well as the ability to identify problems and provide solutions.

·      That you pay close attention to detail and take onboard feedback.

·      Strong interpersonal, organisational, presentation and project management skills.

·      Knowledge of the EU legislative processes, and some knowledge of the key policies relevant to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

·      Excellent English drafting and presentation skills. Additional languages preferable.

·      Understanding of Fourtold's values (Courage; Determination: Integrity; Respect; Collaboration; Generosity; Curiosity), as well as a strong commitment to applying these values in daily interactions with colleagues and clients.

Our offer

We offer a six-month paid traineeship with the possibility – based on performance – for a long-term contract.

·      Opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team.

·      A flexible, enjoyable and respectful working environment.

·      Competitive package.

·      Significant training opportunities as well as a wellbeing programme including an employee assistance programme.

·      Flexible/Hybrid working arrangements.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, and are committed to supporting diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

To apply, please send your CV (two pages maximum) and a short cover letter to jovana.anja.gradanski@fourtold.eu  and  alex.king@fourtold.eu with the subject line: Application for EU Health Policy Intern.

Please note that due to the anticipated high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to every candidate.
