Communications & Membership Officer
Ecsite is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications and Membership Officer to work with the Head of Communications and Membership and supported by the Communications Intern in developing and executing communication initiatives.

Ecsite is the European network of science centres and museums, uniting 300+ member organisations committed to inspiring people about science. By creating events and providing collaborative platforms, Ecsite drives innovation, advocacy, and capacity-building in the field of science engagement. Main Responsibilities:
Communications
- Support in the development and delivery of communication plans for the Ecsite network and its conferences.
- Create compelling and engaging content for and about Ecsite members.
- Create, edit, and distribute content for newsletters, press releases, event promotions, and other digital platforms.
- Coordinate with the events team to ensure smooth communication with attendees, speakers, and partners.
- Provide on-site conference communication support towards attendees and the wider world.
- Maintain and update the Ecsite website with fresh and relevant content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is aligned.
- Support in the development and execute the organisational social media plan across platforms.
- Monitor social media analytics to measure success and recommend improvements.
- Support Head of Membership and Communications in other communications activities as required.
Membership
- Support in the development and implementation of activities to engage and support members
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of online membership activities, such as webinars, and community groups.
- Proactively recommend member benefits to meet evolving needs and interests.
- Maintain and update the membership database (CRM) to ensure accurate records of member information and activities.
- Analyse CRM data to identify trends, engagement metrics, and opportunities for growth.
- Support Head of Membership and Communications in other membership activities as required.
Requirements:

Experience & Education:
- Proven experience in a similar role involving communications for memberships, or events.
- Bachelor's/Masters degree in a related field.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Native level English language, written and spoken
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and database management.
- A good understanding of communicating to different audiences.
- Expertise in social media platforms and analytics tools.
- Graphic design skills (experience with Canva or Adobe Suite is a plus)

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Location:
This role is based at Ecsite’s office in Brussels, Belgium. Ecsite operates a hybrid working policy, which requires staff to be in the office at least three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. As such, applicants should have the right to work in Brussels.
