Overall purpose of job:

Under the supervision of the Communication Manager, the Communication and Social Media Intern will support IDF Europe to strengthen the organization’s online presence, expand its reach, and engage diverse audiences on key topics and priorities for the diabetes community.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Improving IDF Europe’s online visibility, updating and running the social media channels (LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
  • Designing new communication material (infographics and visuals, presentations and digital assets)
  • Recording and editing videos
  • Assisting with event promotion and outreach
  • Building on, enhancing and maintaining our communication/editorial plan
  • Assist in editorial tasks
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Actively participating in team meetings
  • Supporting other team members

Desired profile:

  • Full proficiency in English (native speaker or equivalent); fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Russian, Spanish …) is an asset
  • Some experience in social media management
  • Knowledge of social media monitoring and analytics tools to track and report on communication activities
  • Sound knowledge of social media best practices on LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
  • Previous experience with WordPress, video editing and design tools such as Canva
  • Knowledge of the EU environment
  • Experience working in the health/scientific sector
  • Excellent organizational and team working skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, remote, setting
  • Right to live and work in Belgium without requiring a work permit
  • An interest in health issues
