The European Builders Confederation (EBC) represents crafts, micro companies, and SMEs in the construction sector across Europe. EBC champions a more inclusive, sustainable, and digital construction sector and built environment. Based in Brussels, we are a young and multicultural team seeking a motivated person to lead our communication and events organisation activities.

Your role

Reporting to the Secretary General, she/he will notably be assisting the office for the following tasks:

Communication

  • Ensure coherence and consistency in all communication materials, including writing, editing and proofreading articles, papers, and newsletter
  • Develop and maintain a publications calendar, creating communication material (visuals  via Canva or other graphic tools; newsletter via Mailchimp; templates via Microsoft Office)
  • Manage a new website (WordPress) and social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook)
  • Liaise with the press and EU institutions communication teams
  • Support the Secretariat with administrative tasks

Events

  • Plan and coordinate internal meeting (Boards; General Assembly; Congress) and external events (conferences; workshops; webinars) in physical, online or hybrid formats
  • Promote and follow-up meetings and events
  • Liaise with service providers and EU institutions logistics units

EU-funded projects

  • Lead communication tasks within EU-funded projects, ensuring compliance with dissemination plans
  • Co-organise training sessions and dissemination events, from logistics to moderation
  • Represent EBC in external meetings in Brussels or abroad

 

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated and talented professional with

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in communication and event management in European affairs
  • Creative communication and effective digital skills, notably professional use of social media
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian is an asset
  • Professional experience in the use of WordPress, Zoom, Mailchimp and Canva; any other digital platform and tool is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Business Suite
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team
  • A proactive, responsible attitude, with the ability to take ownership and go beyond assigned tasks
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to deliver concise and impactful communication.
  • Experience with communication in EU-funded projects is an advantage
