We are currently looking for a colleague to lead the work of a major European platform representing the battery value chain.

Position Summary

The Senior Consultant will oversee and coordinate a high-level industry platform bringing together leading organisations across the European battery sector.

Main Duties

The Senior Consultant will manage advocacy and public affairs activities related to batteries, working in close collaboration with the sector’s key associations and stakeholders. The role involves coordinating shared messaging and ensuring alignment across a diverse membership.

Main tasks include:

• Translating the platform’s priorities into targeted advocacy activities;
• Defining and implementing the advocacy strategy for organisations involved in the development and deployment of battery and energy storage technologies;
• Influencing EU legislative and policy developments and analysing their implications for the battery and energy storage industries;
• Engaging with EU institutions and policymakers;
• Drafting position papers, press releases, articles, and reports to communicate messages to EU policymakers and media;
• Preparing and participating in meetings with policymakers and trade associations;
• Representing CLERENS at meetings, events, and high-level discussions.

Requirements and Competencies

• 3–5 years of experience as a Policy Officer or Advisor dealing with energy and/or environmental issues;
• Strong knowledge of the energy sector, preferably including batteries or energy storage;
• Understanding of major EU policy priorities such as REPowerEU and the Green Deal;
• Ability to coordinate positions among multiple stakeholders and build consensus;
• Proactive attitude, ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines;
• Excellent understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes;
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset;
• University degree in a relevant field;
• Excellent writing and oral presentation skills; public speaking experience is a plus;
• Ability to learn quickly and work across a wide range of topics;
• Leadership skills, team spirit, and flexibility;
• Willingness to travel for work.
