About the project:

Join Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Brussels as Advisor (m/f/d) for private sector engagement, partnership management & technical assistance for the global program “Capacity for Nutrition” (C4N).

The program supports the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Commission (EC), and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in promoting coherent nutrition strategies. The program works closely with the “Scaling Up Nutrition” (SUN) movement and partner countries to strengthen evidence-based nutrition strategies and investment frameworks. As advisor you will be embedded in the C4N Team Brussels. From Brussels you work in cross-country and cross-functional teams to primarily support SUN-hubs, EUDs, SDC offices and German Cooperation offices in Africa and Asia.

Your key responsibilities:

• Advise to the EC, SDC and BMZ incl. field offices on private sector engagement and EU-instruments in the context of agri-food systems
• Coordination of ongoing and ad hoc consulting services provided to EU-Delegations, SDC Offices and German Cooperation offices in Africa and Asia on private sector engagement in the context of agri-food systems
• Coordination of ongoing and ad hoc consulting services provided to the EC, SDC and the BMZ on private sector engagement in the context of agri-food systems
• Coordination of C4N-partnerships mobilizing European private sector engagement with special focus on Africa and Asia
• Conception and implementation of events, development and expansion of networks and partnerships, and the management of internal and external partners.
• Portfolio-development in accordance with policy guidelines from the EU, BMZ, SDC and potentially other partners.

Your profile:

• University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business administration, international development, food, agriculture, or a related field;
• Several years work experience in development cooperation in partner countries of the BMZ, EU and SDC; focus Africa. Work experience in Asia is an asset
• Several years work experience in the field of private sector engagement in Africa. Asia is an asset.
• Work experience with ministries and government institutions in Europe, particularly the EC, BMZ and SDC. Work experience with UN-based organizations is an asset.
• Work expererience with EU-instruments with a focus on private sector engagement
• Diplomatic skills, work experience in complex systems, independent work organization, structured work approach, teamwork skills, and commitment;
• Excellent written and spoken English and French (additional languages are an advantage)

We offer a contract from 01 December 2026 until 31 August 2029 with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200). The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience. In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
