About Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE)

Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE) is the voice of the specialised nutrition industry in Europe. We represent the manufacturers of tailor-made dietary solutions for populations with specific nutritional needs. These include infants and young children, people with medical conditions, disorders and diseases comprising inter alia coeliac disease, sports people and those managing their weight. With 22 national associations as members across Europe, a Brussels-based team and a network of top-notch experts, SNE interacts with stakeholders across Europe and beyond.

Position

The Regulatory & Public Affairs Officer will:

• Monitor and advise on selected policies and regulatory developments;
• Coordinate and moderate working group meetings;
• Draft documents and communication materials (e.g. position papers, factsheets etc.);
• Facilitate alignment and collect input from the SNE membership;
• Support the implementation of our communications and advocacy strategy;
• Engage and represent SNE with selected external stakeholders and partner associations;
• Report to the Secretary General and co-operate with members of the SNE team.

Profile

• Completed higher education in a relevant field (European studies, political science, law, public health, food or nutrition-related studies);
• Previous work experience of probably 1-2 years in EU affairs, preferably with some knowledge of food related policies and regulation and some knowledge of communication;
• A resourceful problem-solver, a team player who also enjoys working autonomously, service-minded, ability to multi-task and attention to detail;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders;
• Strong drafting skills and an excellent command of English; other languages are a plus;
• Capacity to quickly understand technical content and relay it to different target groups;
• Experience or at least keen interest in EU affairs, as well as nutrition and health policies; Advanced end user IT skills.
