MAIN DUTIES
As part of the Mobility Enablers Unit at the K&I Department, the Manager contributes to UITP knowledge and research activities on the transversal topic in the field of Public Transport and urban mobility.
The person coordinates EU projects and proposals relevant for the Mobility Governance Unit objectives .

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager:
- Leads knowledge and research projects in Public Transport that balance the needs of the sector and the association and expectations of other urban mobility stakeholders;
- Ensures that knowledge elaboration and research output activities contributes to added value services to the direct benefits of members,
- Actively leads and manages third-party funded projects on promoting the use of sustainable urban mobility solutions
- Coordinates the activities of the partners in the UPPER Project, ensuring the timely delivery of the Grant Agreement activities by all partners, represent the project in meetings with CINEA, DG MOVE, DG RTD, and in relevant conferences and events
- Reviews and checks the quality of the deliverables produced in the UPPER project, ensuring the visibility of the project through various media and dedicated activities
- Coordinates and prepares third-party funded project proposals (e.g. Horizon Europe);
- Liaises with EU institutions related to R&I activities (e.g. DG RTD, DG MOVE, etc.);
- Supports and contributes to other UITP knowledge services when activities are requiring input on relative topics (e.g. events, trainings);
- Participates to global sector events, conferences to present projects’ or UITP work and represent UITP in platforms and fora;
- Supports the Head of Unit and cooperate with the other managers from including budget in the Mobility Governance and Project Delivery units;
- Contributes to the UITP governance for the activities under his/her responsibilities including the definition of the UITP work-programme, budget and capacity plan, in coherence with the Integrated Global Workplan of the association;
- Fulfils his/her mission according to the internal culture based on UITP values. the code of conduct, and on the principles of caring management. In team or project management, this implies providing the colleagues employees with guidance, leadership and support, ensuring their development and well being, while being responsible for enforcing corporate policies and procedures standards.
REQUIRED PROFILE / technical competencies
- Experience (5 years) in coordination/ management of third-party funded projects (e.g. EU service contracts or Horizon Europe funded projects) is fundamental for this position
- Proficiency of the technical content
- Willingness to contributing to other UITP activities such as membership development, training and advocacy
- Leadership, consensus-building and diplomatic skills to conciliate different interests and needs of the project members, public transport sector and UITP members, therefore to contribute to UITP’s and sector’s strategies.
- Good organisational skills and structured way of working. Pro-active and problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to work flexibly, autonomously and on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Stress-resistant and ability to work under pressure.
- Readiness to travel.

Additional Information
Position is based in Brussels.
Salary range (to comply with salary transparency policy): band 22, salary based on competences and experience.
Range : min 3.500 euros gross/m – mid 4.500 euros – max 5.200 euros gross/m + benefits (lunch vouchers, public transport reimbursement, laptop and mobile phone, group insurances, health care and hospitalization insurances, collective bonus based on policy)
