Join Euractiv as Politics Editor
Euractiv is looking for an experienced and ambitious editor with a passion for European affairs to lead our Politics desk.
Based in Brussels, you will coordinate and oversee coverage with our correspondents in Paris, Berlin and across Europe.
This is a unique chance to set the editorial agenda for one of Europe’s top newsrooms, working with a talented, international team of reporters and editors.
Main responsibilities:
– Plan, drive and coordinate Euractiv’s daily and long-term political coverage, ensuring sharp, timely reporting.
– Oversee a dynamic team of political reporters and collaborate across Euractiv’s specialist policy desks.
– Shape breaking news, in-depth features, interviews and background articles for a professional, policy-savvy audience while also managing coverage of EU summits and other major events.
– Interview top EU figures, from Commissioners and MEPs to business leaders, and confidently moderate high-level conferences and debates.
Profile:
– At least five years’ experience in journalism and/or EU politics and policy.
– Exceptional English writing and editing skills, with a proven grasp of EU institutions and policies.
– Leadership experience in a fast-paced newsroom or equivalent environment.
– A quick, analytical mind able to spot angles and provide context on complex issues.
– A collaborative spirit, hard-working, entrepreneurial and a true team player.
– Other European languages and multimedia experience are a plus.
