We are currently looking for a Assistant Business Development Support to start as soon as possible.
The workplace will be Belgium (Brussels), GIZ offers a Belgian employment contract (full time). Business travel to Germany and partner countries might be required.
The selected candidate will provide administrative assistance and business development support to the GIZ International Services team based in the Branch Office Brussels. This will include, inter alia:
In the area of administrative assistance to business development:
- Preparation of Letters of Interest, incl. researching, preparing and formatting project references;
- Filing of project references and other documents in SharePoint and the company’s document management system;
- Screening of opportunities and presenting pre-identified opportunities to the PM team;
- Preparation of GIZ administrative documents for technical offers for our EU project tenders;
- Communicating with external cooperation partners, collecting, checking and verifying their reference projects and formal documents;
- Support with the writing of the backstopping sections in proposals;
- Support in the production and submission of our technical and financial proposals;
- Maintaining the team’s acquisition pipeline and other relevant knowledge management related to business development;
- Regular exchange with the business support team in the HQ;
- Preparation and documentation of team meetings;
- Improvement of the team’s digital infrastructure and supporting colleagues in the structured use of their Microsoft 365 applications.
Support with knowledge management and ongoing projects:
- Ensuring proper document filing according to GIZ standards;
- Ad-hoc support in layout of project outputs;
- Minor translation work or proofreading of texts;
- Other administrative and secretarial tasks.
Your profile:
Qualifications:
- Completed secondary school;
- Prior experience as secretary or administrative assistant;
- Experience in the field of technical assistance projects will be considered an asset.
Languages:
- Fluent spoken and written English;
- Knowledge of French and/or German and/or Spanish will be considered as assets.
Other competences:
- Full IT proficiency (current MS Office, including 365 applications);
- Able to work with precision and attention to detail; focussed attention even under high time pressure or workload;
- Problem-solving minded and with a service-oriented attitude, excellent communication skills;
- Able to work autonomously and pro-actively;
- Demonstrated intercultural skills, keen on working in a dynamic international team.

- The position requires a work permit for Belgium, as the location of the work will be Brussels. Only applicants who are EU citizens or in possession of work permit for Belgium will be evaluated. Please mention if you have the right to work in Belgium in your application.
