Junior Project Manager (m/f/d) for “Knowledge and Policy Coherence for Nutrition” (KPCN)
The global project “Knowledge and Policy Coherence for Nutrition” (KPCN), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Commission (EC), supports partner countries and stakeholders in developing and implementing effective nutrition policies. The goal is the long-term strengthening and political anchoring of measures at the national, regional, and gl.obal levels. The project works closely with the “Scaling Up Nutrition” (SUN) movement. With a focus on Africa and Asia, KPCN collaborates closely with SUN member countries. The private sector plays a crucial role in achieving long-term improvements in nutrition in partner countries. As part of KPCN, you will support the project management and private sector team in both day to day management tasks and the strategic development of the project.
For our office in Brussels we are looking for a Junior Project Manager (m/f/d).
Your key responsibilities:
- You support the project management team in day-to-day operations, general project management and the strategic development of the project,
- You support the development of the portfolio in accordance with policy guidelines from the EU, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and potentially other partners.
- You support the private sector team in day-to-day project operations
- You support the coordination of ongoing and ad hoc consulting services provided to the European Commission and the BMZ on food and nutrition security
- You support the further development of processes, the standardization and implementation of agile methodologies, and reporting to clients.
- You support the conception, planning, and implementation of events, the development and expansion of networks and partnerships, and the management of internal and external partners.
- You support the documentation and coordination of contributions towards strategy-, concept-, and communication documents.
Your profile:
- Completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in international development, food, agriculture, or a related field;
- Work experience with ministries and government institutions in Europe, particularly the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ);
- Work experience in development cooperation in partner countries of the BMZ and the EU;
- Work experience in the field of food and nutrition security;
- Strong conceptual and writing skills, analytical thinking, and a systematic and results-oriented work style;
- Diplomatic skills, independent work organization, structured work approach, teamwork skills, and commitment;
- Excellent written and spoken English and French (additional languages are an advantage)

We offer a limited contract until 31 August 2029 with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200). The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience. In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
