We are looking for a creative and results-driven Communications Manager to lead the development and implementation of integrated communications strategies for ECVM Product Group. This multifaceted role combines high-level strategic planning with hands-on content creation, digital channel management, and coordination of stakeholder engagement activities. The successful candidate will ensure all communications are aligned with advocacy priorities, brand identity, and the organisations' strategic objectives

Who we are?
Plastics Europe’s ECVM Product Group represents Europe’s leading PVC producers and experts. The Product Group’s is composed by full members of Plastics Europe (i.e. Vynova, Vestolit, Westlake Vinnolit, Ercros, Shin Etsu, Inovyn, Kem One). The commitment aims at strengthening the sustainability of PVC products and of the entire industry through a holistic approach including the sustainable use of chemical substances, minimisation of the value chain environmental footprint, safe and quality PVC recycling, building global coalitions and partnering for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
These businesses operate around 46 different plants spread over 28 sites and employ approximately 7,000 people (www.pvc.org). PVC is mostly used in building and construction products, in sport equipment and medical material.
The Position
As Communications Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the voice and visibility of ECVM. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications that support public affairs goals, stakeholder engagement, and digital visibility. This includes translating technical information from the PVC value chain into accessible, impactful messaging that aligns with EU-level advocacy and sustainability priorities.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Public Affairs and Advocacy Communications
- Coordinate with the policy and advocacy teams to ensure communications support public affairs objectives and regulatory engagement.
- Monitor and interpret EU-level legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the PVC industry.
- Develop policy-related communication tools such as stakeholder fact sheets.
- Support the communication aspects of advocacy campaigns and stakeholder dialogues, ensuring technical messages are translated into policy-relevant narratives.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Draft and implement the annual Communications Action Plan, ensuring alignment with advocacy and organisational goals.
- Develop strategic communication campaigns around the Sustainability Commitment 2030 and the upcoming new commitment.
- Lead the communication planning and rollout of the Progress Report, including toolkits, newsletters, and digital content for broad stakeholder access.
- Implement and maintain the ECVM visual identity across all communication tools.
- Digital Communications
- Manage and expand presence on LinkedIn and X, including content strategy, editorial planning, visual production, and performance analysis.
- Develop and evaluate social media campaigns, optimising visibility, engagement, and messaging.
- Ensure brand consistency and professionalism across all digital assets.
- Regularly update and manage content on the websites, including new campaigns, features, and ad-hoc projects.
- Lead the use and content development of the digital event application, including back-end operations and participant support.
- Content Creation and Publications
- Coordinate production of high-quality visual and written content, in collaboration with internal teams and external providers.
- Oversee editorial direction, design, and distribution of the Wonderful Vinyl magazine, integrating it with newsletters, websites, and social media.
- Draft, edit, and distribute all newsletters.
- Event and Committee Coordination
- Support technical and senior management teams during major industry events and roundtables.
- Help translate technical content into accessible messaging for events and campaigns.
- Contribute to the organisation of major multi-day industry events (average 200 participants).
- Maintain and coordinate the Communications Committee, including scheduling and content for triannual meetings.
You will be based at our Brussels office, reporting to the Director of ECVM Product Group. Some travel within Europe may be required.
Profile
To succeed in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
Core Qualifications:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to connect highly technical language and processes relevant to the PVC value chain with clear, accessible, and politically appropriate communication.
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Political Science or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a communications role, preferably in a European or sustainability-related context.
- Demonstrated experience in digital communications, content creation, and campaign execution.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in public affairs or policy communications, ideally within an EU regulatory context.
- Familiarity with the functioning of EU institutions and Brussels-based advocacy networks.
- Experience working with industry associations, EU institutions, or in the sustainability/circular economy field.
- Familiarity with visual content production tools and social media analytics.
- Understanding of technical and regulatory communication requirements in an industrial setting.
