About CO2 Value Europe
CO2 Value Europe (CVE) is an international non-profit association founded in November 2017. Today, CVE is the key representative of the Carbon Capture & Utilisation (CCU) community in Europe. It brings together over 110 pioneering members across the COâ‚‚ value chain, including industry, research organisations, universities, start-ups, and regional clusters, and connects a broader network committed to advancing CCU technologies to help the EU meet its climate targets, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors.
Summary
The Communications and Events Officer will play a key role in supporting the implementation of CO2 Value Europe’s communication strategy within a small and dynamic secretariat. In this context, the role offers a high level of autonomy and close collaboration across all functions of the organisation.
In addition, the successful candidate will develop and support communication and dissemination activities for EU-funded projects in which CO2 Value Europe is involved.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of CO2 Value Europe’s internal and external communication strategies.
- Create visual content (infographics, banners, presentations) and videos to enhance the visibility of the association’s activities and promote the concept of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU).
- Manage and distribute bi-monthly newsletters and targeted email campaigns to engage members and project partners.
- Update and manage content on the CO2 Value Europe website and project websites (WordPress), and proactively improve user experience.
- Contribute to social media activities, primarily via LinkedIn, ensuring consistent messaging.
- Monitor and analyse web and social media performance, using insights to refine outreach and strengthen engagement with target audiences.
- Secure media coverage for key publications and policy outputs, and build and maintain relationships with journalists and relevant stakeholders.
- Organise events from concept to delivery, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
- Develop and implement communication and dissemination work packages for EU-funded projects in which CO2 Value Europe is involved.
- Support the drafting of EU-project proposals related to communication and dissemination work packages.
Profile
Job requirements:
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences or equivalent.
- 3-4 years’ experience in communication, public relations, social media and event management.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and managing websites and digital communication channels.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video production tools.
- Ability to translate technical and scientific information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work in a small, fast-paced environment, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
- An organised, collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
Desirable criteria:
- Strong interest in climate change, sustainability and energy transition topics.
- Experience working on EU-funded projects and/or in project management.
- Experience in a membership-based organisation and understanding of the EU institutions and policymaking processes.
Contract and location:
Full-time position based in Brussels. Working from home is possible. Some business travels mainly within Europe should be considered. Flexibility in working time and place is required.
Starting date: July 2026
