We are looking for a new colleague to join our Governance Innovation team with the following experience, skills and character

Solid understanding of integrated sustainable urban development principles and processes, with a focus on integrated urban planning, social innovation and/or social 

entrepreneurship, and behaviour change; 

At least 3 years of professional experience, working in a project-based environment, ideally for and with local governments or other urban actors; 

Very good and clear oral and written communication; 

Confident interacting and collaborating with a wide range of partners, from grassroots organisations to ministries;

Proficient in English and at least one other European language, spoken and written; more languages are an asset; 

Curious, creative, collaborative, while able to work independently and stay grounded in a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced, international environment. 

Your position will include the following main tasks

Collaborative implementation of projects on integrated urban planning and urban regeneration; 

Design and facilitation of capacity-building programmes for cities with partners and colleagues; 

Regular communication with relevant organisations and institutions; 

Organisation and facilitation of, and contribution to virtual, hybrid and in-person meetings, including trainings, interactive workshops, international project meetings, and conferences; 

Researching and writing publications targeted to urban practitioners, including reports, briefs, case studies and news articles; 

Contributing to project acquisition efforts, including concept development and project design, writing, and budgeting.

Initial 24 months contract with high potential for extension; 

Gross salary according to the Expert position in ICLEI’s salary grid 

(indicative: EUR 51.000 – 53.000 per annum);

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a similar field.
  • At least 8 years of related professional experience in supporting leadership roles.
  • Full command of French (C2/native), and a good command of English (C1/C2 levels)

BETTER FINANCE is looking for a full-time Sustainable Finance Project Officer to join the team in Brussels. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several ongoing BETTER FINANCE projects in the area of sustainable finance as well as participate in producing funding applications for future projects. The successful candidate will be required to cooperate closely with the other members of the team and they may be requested to participate in other advocacy and research initiatives of BETTER FINANCE, especially in the area of sustainable finance, depending on their interest and qualifications. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of the BETTER FINANCE of a research project on sustainable finance, funded by the European Climate Foundation but not limited to: general project management, helping to organise events and meetings connected to the project as well as preparing any needed documents and descriptions of activities necessary for interim reporting;
  • Supporting the BETTER FINANCE team in their research work, advocacy campaigns and responses to public consultations, especially on topics related to sustainable finance or financial education;
  • Helping the BETTER FINANCE team in producing fundraising applications to both EU calls for proposals as well as for private foundations;
  • When needed, representing BETTER FINANCE at external meetings, conferences and workshops, including presenting projects, their research results, policy recommendations or other deliverables to large audiences;
  • When asked, attend and report on meetings at European institutions or private foundations and other relevant internal and external events.

The Sustainable Finance Project Officer will report to the Managing Director.

PROFILE/MAIN QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic team player willing to take the initiative within the portfolio of assigned tasks. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

Required (minimum) qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in relevant functions;
  • Experience working on externally funded projects (funded by grants from the EU, private foundations, national governments or other similar sources);
  • Knowledge of the general functioning of the EU institutions and their legislative process as well as experience in political advocacy;
  • Knowledge of at least the basics of investment and finance is required;
  • Fluency (at least C1) in English, both written and verbal;
  • Be committed to BETTER FINANCE’s mission;
  • Team player and detail-oriented, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred (additional) skills:

  • A successful track record in fundraising, including but not limited to writing grant applications or tender proposals or securing funding from public foundations;
  • In-depth knowledge of and strong interest in sustainable finance, adult financial education as well as investors’ & savers’ rights issues and financial regulation more broadly, would be a significant asset;
  • Experience in scientific and/or policy research;
  • Fluency in other European languages is considered an asset;
  • Good IT knowledge, particularly with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
  • Good organisation and project management skills are a must;

Your role

The Market Access Officer is responsible for :

Supporting Medicines for Europe in Market Access, Health Economics and other relevant health & pharmaceutical policy topics, across industry sector groups, supporting both internal and external engagements.

  • Monitoring and analysing the latest European market trends and impact of market access policy developments across Europe.

Your profile 

  • A Master’s degree in life sciences (pharmaceutical sciences or other health relevant studies), health economics or healthcare policy. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in European health/pharmaceutical policy.
  • Understanding of the European pharmaceutical framework, market dynamics and policies at national level.
  • Knowledge of databases holding relevant health data is an advantage (e.g. OECD Data, Eurostat, IQVIA MIDAS®).
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

TfS Project Manager GHG Scope 3 Emissions

Together for Sustainability AISBL (TfS) is a global, procurement driven initiative dedicated to the improvement of supply chain sustainability in the chemical industry. Committed to contributing to a better world, TfS members assess, audit, and improve sustainability performance in the supply chains of the chemical industry and develop a program to tackle GHG Scope 3 emissions. There is an exciting opportunity for a new position of Project Manager GHG Scope 3 Emissions in the growing TfS team. This position offers the opportunity to make an impact towards emission reduction by collaborating with experts from globally leading companies with high ambitions on sustainability.

The Manager will drive the TfS GHG Scope 3 program in close cooperation with the experts from the TfS member companies. The TfS GHG Scope 3 program currently includes

  • Standardized methodologies for the chemical industry to quantify corporate Scope 3 – Category 1 GHG inventories and product carbon footprints (PCFs).
  • TfS PCF data-sharing solution to amplify the flow of PCF data of chemical products and materials along the value chain.
  • Cross-industry cooperation with external partners to increase impact.

The position will be Brussels-based and starts June 1, 2024.

Job description / tasks:

  • Drive implementation of the global TfS GHG Scope 3 program in cooperation with the TfS member companies, the Work Streams and regional teams of TfS
  • Manage relationship with service providers for the TfS GHG Scope 3 program including contract implementation, performance monitoring, continuous improvements.
  • Manage cooperation with external partners (e.g. Catena-X, WBCSD Pact) together with the respective Work Stream and represent the TfS GHG program towards external partners and stakeholders at webinars, conferences etc
  • Support TfS Work Stream rolling out the GHG Scope 3 program to buyers/suppliers and support cooperation cross-WS and cross regions on e.g. Supplier engagement, Trainings
  • Onboard TfS Members to the TfS GHG Scope 3 program and respective Workstream in cooperation with the TfS Workstream Chair/Co-Chairs
  • Work with TfS Workstream Chair/Co-Chairs and TfS General Manager to prepare material for TfS Meetings (Steering Committee/General Assembly) including the creation of presentations, moderation, minutes.
  • Cooperate with the TfS team on ad hoc tasks as required e.g. IT projects, Annual TfS Workshop, TfS Annual Report

Education and Experience required

  • Masters degree in an area relevant for GHG Emissions management, such as Sustainability, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies/Engineering/Science or alternatively Chemistry
  • Working experience with chemical industry or similar industry associations is required
  • Min 8 years work experience in Project Management on Sustainability with a focus on GHG Emissions management (either at corporate level or product level), ideally in a corporate/business setting
  • Expertise on sustainability in chemical supply chains
  • Practical experience and in-depth knowledge of GHG Scope 3 Emissions (GHG Protocol) and/or product carbon footprints (ISO Standards, WSCSD Pact, TfS PCF Guideline)
  • Experience with relevant Data Platforms and IT systems for GHG emissions management
  • Track record of successful projects in GHG Emissions management/sustainability
  • Active network with relevant partners (e.g. GHG Protocol, GHG related associations, Thought leaders, Project partners)
  • Fluency in English required, knowledge of Chinese or Spanish or Portuguese considered a plus
  • Confident command of MS Office required
  • Negotiation experience with partners and service providers is a plus

Job description

 

Kellen has been managing for over 20 years EUROBAT, the Association of ‎European Automotive and Industrial Batteries and is currently looking for an Executive Director to lead the client. The position is based in the Kellen Brussels office.

EUROBAT represents the European manufacturers of all battery chemistries. Our mission is to ‎work with policy-makers, industry stakeholders and non-governmental organisations to help craft ‎a ‎positive and consistent regulatory framework for the battery industry in the EU and beyond. Our ‎vision is for an EU that achieves the goals of the Green Deal to become the first net zero continent ‎with the invaluable support of a competitive, sustainable and innovative European battery industry.‎

Your role:

  • Contributing to the definition of the association’s strategy and leading the association through the 2024 EU elections, the next EU ‎term and beyond.
  • Take the lead in acquiring new members according to the membership development ‎directives
  • Position the association as the voice of EU battery industry, both in the short and longer terms, and represent the interest of the membership towards all stakeholders
  • Promoting the battery industry -  comprising of all major chemistries - as a key industry in the context of Green Deal, while highlighting the need for a competitive industrial regulatory framework.
  • Proactively manage the strategies and regulatory programs on EU affairs and policy for EUROBAT; in the areas of battery legislation and positioning, thereby contributing to a comprehensible and favorable regulatory environment.

This position would also entail:

  • Being the main point of contact for the association’s President and Board, ensuring efficient communication to and alignment with the rest of the team.
  • Supporting and preparing the General Assembly and Board meetings
  • Representing EUROBAT in relevant EU legislative and regulatory discussions across fora
  • Speaking on behalf of EUROBAT at international conferences and events
  • Building and maintaining relationships – both at an EU/Brussels and key member states levels - with key stakeholders across institutions, industry, and societal interest representation.
  • Building the Secretariat’s team and managing the daily operations of the team in line with the association’s strategy and objectives.

You bring:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a public and regulatory affairs in energy, environment, or health & safety
  • Excellent knowledge of the EU policy discussions around decarbonisation, cleantech, mobility and power systems. Knowledge of battery legislation is a plus
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of the EU policy-making process and experience with trade associations in renewable energy, energy storage, metals or transportation
  • High level network across EU institutions
  • Self-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment.
  • Fluent and professional English written & spoken, any other European language is a plus
