FuelsEurope is looking for a REACH Advocacy Manager to support our advocacy efforts on chemicals regulation and help us navigate one of the most critical challenges of our time: enabling the transition to climate neutrality through sustainable fuel manufacturing.

About FuelsEurope

FuelsEurope represents the interest of 40 companies manufacturing and distributing conventional and renewable fuels and products for mobility, energy & feedstocks for industrial value chains in the EU. As part of the European Fuel Manufacturers Association, we actively contribute to policy dialogues, regulatory frameworks, and innovative energy solutions that support the EU’s climate and industrial goals.

We are a trusted stakeholder in Brussels, engaging with EU institutions, member states, industry partners, and other stakeholders to ensure science-based, realistic, and forward-looking policies.

Your mission

As REACH Advocacy Manager reporting to the REACH Advocacy Executive, you will

  •  In general, work in close cooperation with the Concawe REACH team and in coordination with the other colleagues of FuelsEurope
  • Monitor EU regulatory and other policy intelligence at EU and national level relevant for the designated policy areas and brief the membership
  • Draft position papers and other policy material in consultation with the member companies and drawing on the technical and scientific knowledge of the Concawe REACH team
  • Contribute to developing an advocacy strategy enabling FuelsEurope to convey its position towards EU Institutions in close cooperation with the membership
  • Implement the advocacy strategy with the support of the membership
  • Represent FuelsEurope in dialogues with the EU institutions, industry coalitions and other stakeholders related to the designated policy areas
  • Cooperate with relevant stakeholders outside FuelsEurope

What you bring

  • A university degree; alternatively, baccalaureate with significant field experience
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a similar role with proven record of achievements
  • Good knowledge of EU chemicals legislation (REACH, CLP, PFAS, OSH) acquired through previous working experience
  • Good knowledge of petroleum substances, including the basics of the petroleum refining
  • Strong understanding of EU institutions and the decision-making process and strong advocacy attitude acquired through previous experience. In particular experience reaching out to the European Council would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills for building relationships with key institutional stakeholders, member companies, National Associations and other partners
  • Ability to analyse and synthesize complex material into digestible advocacy documents to disseminate to partners and strategic stakeholders
  • Flexibility to cope with unexpected tasks, competing deadline
  • Being comfortable with taking initiative
  • Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences in writing and orally
  • Excellent spoken and written English
