Description of the project:

Capacity for Nutrition – National Information Platforms for Nutrition (C4N-NIPN) is one of three components of the ‘Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N)’ programme and supports the European Commission (EC), its partners as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with competence and knowledge to strengthen nutrition-related programmes. Launched in 2015, NIPN is an EC initiative, (NIPN - National Information Platforms for Nutrition (nipn-nutrition-platforms.org), which works closely with platforms in eight countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America for better nutrition information systems and improve data analysis for better-informed strategic decisions. The Global Coordination unit in Brussels, Belgium supports the strengthening and sustainability of multi-stakeholder processes by coordinating technical assistance and capacity development for the platforms and also facilitates collaboration between the implementing partners.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to join our team in Brussels as Junior Advisor (m/f/d) for Capacity for Nutrition – National Information Platforms for Nutrition (C4N-NIPN) starting 1 July 2025

The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Support all C4N activities related to the project implementation: capacity development, technical assistance, capturing lessons learned, global outreach, communications and knowledge management;
  • Support the project’s communication activities including drafting and publishing text for the NIPN website, social media (LinkedIn) and electronic partner communications;
  • Support the preparation and documentation of meetings, conferences, webinars and workshops as well as archiving related documentation;
  • Support NIPN website maintenance, adding and archiving content, as well as creation and editing of web pages;
  • Support the production of NIPN knowledge products such as guidelines, presentations, briefs, info-graphics and project documentation;
  • Organize and document events organized by C4N-NIPN, including steering committee meetings, webinars, workshops and conferences;
  • Support the organisation and documentation of lessons learned in the implementation of NIPN to ensure knowledge continuity at the end of the project;
  • Assist in the overall management of the C4N global coordination functions and other tasks, as needed;

Your profile

  • Completed university degree in relevant fields e. g. nutrition, public health or food and nutrition security;
  • First professional experience in project implementation, communications, event and/or conference management;
  • Proven experience with website content management and monitoring systems, ideally WordPress, SPIP or other PHP script programmes Matomo / Piwik;
  • Experience with graphic design and editing tools (i.e., preferably Adobe Illustrator, but also Canva / InDesign, Microsoft Photo) would be an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote) and other communications technology (video conference calls, webinar platforms);
  • Excellent writing skills and experience with the production of knowledge products;
  • Team orientation, flexibility within a rapidly changing environment and high degree of motivation to achieve and deliver goal-oriented results on time;
  • English (C2) and French (C2) are required; knowledge of Spanish and/or German would be an asset.

We offer a contract from 1 July 2025 until 30 April 2026 with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200). The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience. In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
