About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced event professional who thrives on bringing big ideas to life and managing all the moving parts behind the scenes. As our Event Project Officer, you will lead the operational delivery of our flagship event European Hydrogen Week. This is a hands-on role where you will serve as the central point of contact for sponsors and exhibitors, while also coordinating with our external event agency and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.

Main responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Oversee the full event cycle, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder responsibilities are clearly defined and met.
  • Act as the key link between our team and the external event agency -coordinating tasks, aligning on deadlines, and ensuring smooth communication.
  • Manage the end-to-end sponsor and exhibitor journey , from application processing and contract signing to post-event follow-up.
  • Ensure all sponsor/exhibitor assets are received and implemented correctly, and that deliverables are fulfilled.
  • Guarantee appropriate visibility on event platforms and more.

Programme Support:

  • Work closely with internal teams and partners to implement programme elements and side events , ensuring all logistical and production requirements are met.
  • Coordinate technical and operational needs in collaboration with production teams, speakers, and vendors.
  • Support with the on-site logistics, accreditation, and venue coordination where applicable.

In addition, the Event Project Officer, European Hydrogen Week will support broader administrative processes as required. This may include assisting with other Hydrogen Europe events and meetings, the organisation’s meeting centre operations, and providing general support across the team during busy periods.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field,or equivalent professional experience
  • Having a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working in international or nonprofit, membership organisations
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Ms Teams, Eventbrite and other) and project management tools
  • Familiarity with hybrid event formats and accessibility best practices

Skills

  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence in managing multiple stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Effective time management skills; priority setting and multi-tasking skills.
  • A can-do attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Able to work independently and within a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Eye for detail & accuracy.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
