Hydrogen Europe is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional to join our team as a Senior Funding Officer specialising in European energy and funding schemes, policy, and industry partnerships.
Main responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing and rolling out Hydrogen Europe’s positioning, and advocacy on:
- Current and future EU climate funding schemes, including the Innovation Fund, Horizon Europe, the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy and Transport, InvestEU,
- State Aid frameworks and individual Member States schemes
- Carbon pricing policies, industrial policy for manufacturing in Europe, in the hydrogen economy.
- Draft position papers with the industry and prepare responses to public consultations.
- Coordinate and support the work of Hydrogen Europe’s Funding and Finance Working Group, and provide support to other working groups.
- Advocate Hydrogen Europe positions towards European policy makers in coordination with the Funding and Finance Manager and the Chief Policy Officer
- Represent Hydrogen Europe externally, developing partnership with other like-minded stakeholders, participating and speaking at external events.
- Preparing briefings and documents for a variety of purposes/audiences.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Economics, Political Sciences (EU studies, Political Science, International Relations), Energy management, sciences, etc.
- 6 years minimum work experience in European Affairs and or European funding programmes with exposure to EU climate policy and funding opportunities. Exposure to clean hydrogen sector technologies and their applications would be highly valued.
- Significant experience in addressing strategic, economic and regulatory issues in the energy and industry sector as well as an appetite to further develop their expertise in the hydrogen field.
- Ability to present work effectively to decision-makers
- Advanced experience with MS Excel – Any data management tool additional knowledge would be appreciated
- Excellent drafting skills: capacity to write clear and convincing documents for both technical and non-technical audiences,
- Excellent English speaking & writing skills.
- Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas as well as quickly adapting to new topic areas.
- Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Nice to have:
- The capacity to assess financials of companies and bankability of projects and/or business cases,
- Proficiency in data management tools and database building,
- Additional languages.
