For our Economics and Finance department, we are looking for a: Policy advisor international affairs and reinsurance
In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping regulatory policies that impact the global (re)insurance industry. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating European and international standards, ensuring market access, and addressing trade issues.
You will have the opportunity to prepare and participate in high-level meetings, develop influential advocacy positions, and coordinate discussions that support our organization's policy objectives. By leveraging key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the European Commission and OECD, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission forward.
As part of your responsibilities, you will coordinate the secretariat services for the Insurance Europe Reinsurance Advisory Board (RAB), providing essential support to industry leaders. Additionally, you will represent our organization at seminars and conferences, actively promoting our policy messages and expanding your professional network.

Your tasks will include:
- Policy Monitoring & Analysis: Keep a close eye on regulatory changes related to trade and reinsurance, analyze their impact, and provide expert advice.
- Member Engagement: Build strong relationships with national associations and company members, gather feedback, and develop position papers.
- Communication: Prepare clear and structured documentation and ensure effective communication of policy positions.
- Support to Working Groups: Facilitate meetings, document discussions, and coordinate next steps.
- Advocacy: Develop relationships with policymakers, industry representatives, and other relevant parties, and advocate on members’ agreed policy messages.
Profile
Essential:
- University degree in law, Economics or finance with a minimum of three to five years of experience;
- Strong organisation skills and effective execution of tasks;
- Capacity to identify, prioritise and resolve issues;
- Highly developed team spirit and excellent inter-personal skills;
- Very good analytical skills and ability to assess complex multi-dimensional issues;
- Excellent drafting skills and proven ability to synthesise feedback
Desirable:
- Experience in trade matters;
- Experience in (re)insurance sector or financial services;
- Experience in building defendable consensus views amongst stakeholders;
- Experience within an international and multi-cultural environment.
