Internship – Communication and Innovation Assistant (M/F) at A.SPIRE

Full-time internship position based in Brussels

ORGANISATION

A.SPIRE is a European Association that represents ten European industrial sectors (cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, steel, water, refining and pulp&paper) and the research & innovation interests of 170 members. A.SPIRE is a private partner implementing the Processes4Planet Co-programmed Partnership launched as part of the Horizon Europe framework programme.

POSITION

A.SPIRE is looking for a full-time stagiaire/intern to support A.SPIRE’s administration team.

Contract: Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP) 

Starting date: The preferred starting date for this position is early October 2025.

Duration: 6 months

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Trainee, you will be required to assist and implement in:

  • Assist with drafting and editing newsletters, social media posts, and other communication materials.
  • Create visuals and design layouts using Canva and other graphic design tools to enhance both internal and external content.
  • Support internal communications, including content updates on SharePoint
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the website (Drupal)
  • Format and layout internal and external communication materials
  • Support the design, distribution, and follow-up of surveys, including drafting questions, managing mailing lists, tracking responses, and compiling initial results.
  • Participate in meetings with project coordinators led by the Innovation Manager to support the reporting process, help address questions and assist coordinators in completing surveys.
  • Assist in developing and executing the reporting process, from collecting project data to preparing draft reports and visual summaries.

You will interact with the A.SPIRE team, especially with the Communications Specialist and the Innovation Manager, and may also be in contact with senior-level internal and external contacts, members and suppliers.

We are seeking a versatile profile, someone creative who can support and contribute to our communication activities, while also being comfortable working with data to assist the reporting process. This role offers the opportunity to learn and grow in both areas: communication and innovation.

EDUCATIONAL & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Recent graduate in Communication, Journalism, European Studies, or other related fields.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong writing, editing, and organisational skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend long documents
  • Practical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Good eye for layout and attention to visual detail
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

OPTIONAL, BUT A PLUS

  • Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools
  • Good level of Excel
  • Previous experience with CMS platforms

  • Self-management
  • Highly organised, proactive and delivery-oriented
  • High level of tact and integrity due to the sensitive nature of information
  • Flexible to take on other tasks as appropriate
  • Collaborative and teamwork spirit
  • Should be able to multitask effectively with a high attention to detail
  • Willingness to integrate into a small team
  • Available to travel for events and other ad-hoc meetings in Brussels and Europe
  • Based in Brussels or interested in moving to Brussels

REMUNERATION

€ 1.200 gross per month (full-time paid internship) plus meal vouchers and public transportation allowance.
