Digitalisation is changing the way healthcare is delivered, making it more efficient, safer and more effective. Recent years have seen a number of policy initiatives, many emanating from Brussels, that are paving the way for better use of connected health technologies and data.

We represent diagnostics and medical device manufacturers operating in Europe. We are looking for a Digital Health Intern to join our team at the intersection of medical technology and digital health.

Job Description

Reports to: Verena Thaler, Manager Data Governance & Digital Regulation Head of Department: Alexander Olbrechts, Director Digital health

The Intern will actively engage with MedTech Europe’s Digital Health team to facilitate the implementation of the organisation’s digital health strategy. This role involves contributing to various initiatives that support the advancement of digital health within the medical technology sector, including AI, data and cybersecurity.

Specific ResponsibilitiesDigital health:

  • Support the organisation of committee and working group meetings (online and hybrid)
  • Drafting of meeting minutes, presentations reports, briefings and other written material
  • Research on digital health technologies and latest trends in digital health, and their adoption
  • Representation of MedTech Europe at meetings and events
  • Provide further assistance as required, such as carrying out administrative tasks and communications.

Required Competences

  • Bachelor Degree or higher-level education level in humanities, social/political sciences, IT, economics, law, or other relevant fields;
  • Fluency in oral and written English;
  • Analytical mindset, ability to carry out research and present results effectively both in written and orally;
  • Demonstrated proactivity, strong ability to work independently, and a proven track record of taking responsibility to support the team;
  • Eye for detail, a positive attitude and a problem-solving mindset;
  • IT savviness, including competence in standard Windows and MS Office applications;
  • Interest in medical technologies, healthcare and digital health.

Desirable Competences

  • Familiarity with the EU healthcare landscape;
  • Previous work experience in EU-related areas;
  • Fluency in other official EU languages;
  • Experience with policy monitoring and briefing skills.

  • A one-year full time contract (39 hours a week) under the Belgian Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP)

  • This internship is only applicable for candidates who hold EU citizenship and a diploma. The internship cannot be linked to any internship with the university.
