FoodDrinkEurope is recruiting a candidate who is passionate about sustainable food systems and skilled in data analysis, research, and communications to join our Communications, Advocacy, and R&I team.
The successful applicant will help provide foresight and analysis on important and emerging food topics and trends, collect stakeholder insights, and build new relationships. They will also support the industry’s proactive programme to help food and drink businesses become both competitive and sustainable.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Support policy and advocacy: Gather insights, research, and evidence to inform policy work and shape industry responses and communications on priority issues.
- Craft compelling and creative content: Develop case studies and proof points, and communicate the sector’s positive impact through articles, papers, videos, and graphics.
- Drive positive industry action: Support, spearhead, and promote FoodDrinkEurope’s proactive initiatives, helping businesses – especially SMEs – become more sustainable and competitive.
- Deliver flagship events: Help deliver key FoodDrinkEurope showcase events to inspire, convene, and communicate the industry’s role.
- Strengthen reputation: Help build thought leadership in Brussels media and lead campaigns that position the industry as essential to a sustainable food future.
- Build influence: Grow personal networks and support direct advocacy to key stakeholders, representing the industry’s positions with EU policymakers and regulators, national associations, partners, and other key players.
- Be ready for anything: Support the Communications, Advocacy, and R&I team in its many and varied tasks, including committee management, policy engagement, monitoring, and creating fun.
Qualifications
- University degree or professional experience related to data analysis, research, science communications, or econometrics – ideally also linked to agri-food policy.
- 1+ year of experience in a professional work environment. Experience in Brussels is desired but not essential.
Skills and competencies
- Excellent data analysis, writing, communication, networking and negotiation skills.
- Affinity with the food and drink sector.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent English, other EU languages an asset.
- Hold an EU work permit.
