Nemec+Chvatal (N+C) is an international Public Affairs consultancy based in Brussels. At N+C we advise clients on policy and regulation at the EU level, in Member States, and international organizations. We specialize in public affairs & government relations, strategic communications, issue management, political risk advisory, and crisis communication. We work with fields relevant to our clients including public health policy, sustainability, defence, energy, climate, digital and more. 

N+C is offering a 6-month paid traineeship in Brussels office starting from October 2024.

During the traineeship, you will be working with a wide portfolio of clients while gaining experience in the world of consultancy. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Research and monitoring of policy and legislative developments on various topics at EU, Member State, and international level, 
  • supporting the implementation of advocacy and outreach programmes, and fulfillment of related ad hoc tasks,
  • preparing reports and briefing notes for clients,
  • organizing events, conferences and following relevant events at EU level, 
  • providing support for new business proposals.

Key requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of EU policy and EU decision-making processes,
  • interest in different EU policies such as public health, sustainability, defence, energy, climate or digital, 
  • strong research and analytical skills, and an ability to summarize information in a concise and effective manner, 
  • ability to absorb new information quickly, and to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • previous working experience in an EU institution, public affairs consultancy, trade association, or other public institution is an asset, but not a requirement, 
  • full working proficiency in English and working knowledge of another official EU language.
